Europe gets three new Nintendo DSi colors October 23
Brothers and sisters across the pond, we'd like to inform you that three new DSi colors are coming your way October 23. Joining the already available black and white models are the US launch cotton candy blue model, a metallic blue model (which looks exactly like the navy DS Lite from Japan) and a red model. Each DSi will come pre-loaded with the new Facebook integration feature and Flipnote Studio.
Oh, and if you get one, don't forget to take it online for those 1,000 free DSi Points (offer ends March 2010).

Nintendo announces new Wiimote, DSi colors for North America
Nintendo just announced that you'll finally be able to get a new color for your Wii ... mote. Black. This holiday season the company will be making a black Wiimote bundle available with the Wiimote and Wii MotionPlus, including a black Wii jacket, which is very slimming. However, you'll have to buy your black Nunchuk as a standalone, also available Holiday 2009.
According to the presser, "The Black bundle is the first new color for the Wii Remote and Wii MotionPlus," so let's hope this means a rainbow of colors coming down the pipeline next year. Right now this has nothing to go with, especially since the Wii won't be available in black over here, only in Japan. No mention of new console colors, nor of the blue Wiimote, seen recently at the World Hobby Fair. Will this be a case of having to chase down colors and accessories in different regions?
Nintendo is also bringing new DSi colors to North America, in the form of pink and white, available starting September 13. So we'll now have black, blue, white, and pink DSi ... why no funky colors like Japan? They get all the cool stuff.

Rumorang: Sony making lime green PSP
Lately, Sony has taken a Skittles-esque liking for more PSP colors. Japan just got the new Carnival set and a lilac system is heading to North America soon. And, as it would appear, a lime green PSP is also in the works. According to Chinese website VGSky.com, the lime green PSP-3000 model pictured above was produced in a Sony factory in China. It's currently unknown whether this specific color is being mass-produced or just a prototype.
Japan already has 12 different PSP color variants released on the market, and North America will soon have six. Where will this new color go, if it is indeed legit?

Simply email your query to asknintendo AT joystiq DOT com, and we will stare at it until an answer becomes apparent!
More PSP colo(u)rs releasing in the UK

Details are light and we haven't even been given solid release dates or images by SCEE. These colors are, however, available already in Japan. We've found some images of Pearl White and Mystic Silver (above) and Radiant Red (after the break).
80GB PS3 releasing in Japan with bundles, various colors
Famitsu reports (via IGN) that Sony will release the 80GB PS3 in Japan for the same price as the current 40GB model. For a limited time the company will also include Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Spec III with the system.
Sony will also offer an 80GB PS3 LittleBigPlanet bundle with extra DualShock 3 controller for about $50 more than the standard 80GB version. The company also plans to have a LittleBigPlanet and DualShock 3 bundle for about $80. All the new 80GB models, including the LBP controller bundle, will be offered in black, white and silver color varieties (already available for the 40GB as well). Remember, all this information applies only to Japan, so don't go thinking it's going to be a white 80GB PS3 Christmas.

All that glitters is not gold: Silver DS confirmed for North America

Not including limited editions, this will become the seventh color in the North American DS rainbow, though it has been available in Europe, Japan, and South Korea for around a year; and very nice it is too, in this European blogger's opinion. Any of you lovely people got an eye on this?

Rumor: USA to be awarded Silver
The Gloss Silver DS Lite has been shining in Europe and Japan for some time now, but it hasn't made an appearance in North America as of yet. Well, that's not entirely true: half of the Metallic Silver DS Lite makes up the Guitar Hero: On Tour special edition system. But we never got the back part.
An unspecified "source" has suggested to GoNintendo's RawMeatCowboy that this tragic omission will be corrected this September, with the release of an all-silver DS. That sounds perfectly plausible to us, especially since its partner in shininess, the Metallic Rose, has been released.
It's nice to have such a low-impact rumor so close to E3. We may get a new color, and that would be nice; if not, that's okay too! It's certainly a lot tamer than all those other rumors we've been dealing with.

DS Daily: What color do you bleed?

DS Daily: Choosing a favorite
Yesterday, we talked a bit about limited edition DS Lites. Sure, most of them are only available in Japan, but that doesn't keep us from drooling all over them anyway. Did you check them out? What do you think?
When looking them over, it's hard for us to choose a favorite. With so many great handhelds in one place, you can understand the difficulty we're having in choosing one. So, why don't you? What's your favorite limited edition DS Lite? Fan of the Zelda-themed handheld, or more for the simple style of the metallic blends? Which is your favorite?

DS download centers and new colors boost sales in the UK
Following word that the UK would be receiving some new download stations, as well as some new DS Lite models, we now hear that this new switch is driving sales in the region. It's pretty much a winning combo.Despite the success, don't bet on more DS Lite models being released anytime soon. "There are now seven different DS colours available, so we have no plans to release more colours at this time," said a Nintendo spokesperson. The new download centers, however, will be rolling out in a "steady and consistent manner," so expect new demos on a regular basis.
Find a use for that extra DS
Nintendo is pumping out new DS colors with a vengeance, and many DS owners who've been clinging to their original models are finally breaking down and upgrading to a Lite. Still others already had a Lite, but found themselves lulled into spending even more money on a spiffy new shade. We just can't control ourselves in the face of such beauty. But what happens when you end up with a second DS? Unless you've been retro-fitted with an extra pair of arms, you probably don't need two handhelds. Rather than letting the extra sit around and collect dust, check out our suggested uses for that second DS.

UK still betting on black
At the bottom of a GamesIndustry.biz story about some PS3 game (Metal ... something) failing to sell PS3s in the UK, we found news of how those new, Europe-only DS colors had fared in Britain.
And here's a surprise: Chart-Track (the company tasked with the exhausting job of tallying how many copies of Brain Training sell each week in Europe) has revealed that while the swish new red, turquoise, and green models had a "massive impact" on sales, none could dislodge the current top-seller, which is ... black. How boring!
Despite being the most delicious of all DSes, the red version could only come in second, and was followed by pink, white, turquoise, green and silver respectively. Sadly, Chart-Track doesn't dispense actual sales figures, but come on, Brits! Show some adventure in your choice of DS colors! Be crazy and live life on the edge like us!
