DS Fanboy's DSiWare screen round-up

Thirteen DSiWare titles will be released to Japan's DSi Shop on December 24, so we thought we'd construct a one-stop post where you can gawk at games most of us can't have. Past the jump, you'll find screens for all launch titles, as well as the price and size of each. How would you spend the free 1,000 DSi Points you get with the system?

Because we love the series, we'll kick proceedings off with a look at A Little Dr. Mario (500 DSi Ware Points, 29 blocks required):

DSi Shop opens Christmas Eve, new trailers available right now

Nintendo has released a new video advertising the downloadable offerings on the Japanese DSi Shop, which will become available starting December 24. This new trailer gives us a better look at a few of the games we knew about, and introduces a few we didn't.

Thrillingly, we now have names for two of the Art Style games: Aquario and the very cool-looking Decode. There's a brief look at the Brain Age DSiWare games; Utsusu! Made in Wario, the 500-point WarioWare game that uses the DSi camera; and the separate WarioWare minigames like Paper Plane and Bird and Bean.

Awesome new stuff includes Chotto Dr. Mario (A Little Dr. Mario), a 500 Point downloadable Dr. Mario game; single magic tricks from Magic Taisen/Master of Illusion; and Chotto Asobi Taisen Odegaru Trumps, which contains a small variety of card games from Clubhouse Games. Combined with the known offerings, this is the whole launch lineup, and it's all Nintendo!

After the break, you can see a longer trailer for the downloadable Brain Ages, and a really, really cool look at Ugoku Memo-chou, the flipbook/notepad software.

Gaming to Go: Clubhouse Games

Remember checkers? How about chess? And blackjack? What about dominoes? And Shogi and Ludo and Hasami Shogi and Koi-Koi and -- ahem. Don't recognize those last few names? No worries! I didn't know them either. There's still time to learn, however, and this is where Nintendo's Clubhouse Games comes to party.

It contains 42 -- yes, 42 -- classic games for your enjoyment, running the gamut from bowling and billiards to Mahjong solitaire and Pig. An incredible amount of variety exists in this tiny DS cart, making Clubhouse Games one of the most involving titles the DS has seen in recent years. The mind-boggling amount of games also makes it ideal for this week's edition of Gaming to Go. Sure, I might not recommend starting up a game of chess on your next lunch break, but why not go for a quick game of Connect Five? Whatever your mood fancies, Clubhouse Games has you covered. Why do all good things have to come to an end? As we dropped our fair share of blocks in Tetris DS last night, we held on for as long as we could, but eventually had to depart. As much fun as Game Night always is with you folks, we just couldn't stay longer than an hour. We wished we could, but them's the breaks,

Yesterday evening was the kind of magical event that occurs when two loving people attend a nice restaurant and one of those individuals gets down on one knee, presents a ring and proposes marriage. We felt the love. We also threw down in some Metroid Prime Hunters and Tetris DS. Seriously, it was a Game Night to remember.

Let's make sure next week is even better! Vote below and rope a friend into attending. We, as well as you, know it won't be a disappointment for them.

Even though it is Friday and a cause for celebration, a part of us still weeps for the passing of Game Night. For an hour, it made us feel alive and now we have to return back to our mundane lives, the thought of conquest during Game Night still fresh on our mind. Oh well, there's always next week.
