Silver Coins

So you managed to find some coins that aren't gold, but what are they worth? Depending on the game in which they are found, silver coins can yield either a truckload of 1-ups or 1/100 of a single 1-up, which is to say next to nothing. This unpredictable currency—usually activated via grey P-switch—holds the same value as gold coins in SMB3, but can be collected in groups to earn a series of 1-ups in Super Mario World. Also a possible relative to the rare silver stars seen in 64 DS and Galaxy.
