Toad Suit

Don't remember this? You shouldn't, because it never made the final cut. Hidden within the game code in Super Mario Bros. 3, this mystery sprite is situated beside a map of the game's power-up suits. Because the model differs from that of the gift-giver in toad houses, one could reasonably surmise that early designs included a Toad suit item. Maybe it evolved into the similarly shaped Sledge Bros. suit playable in the final game. Or maybe it's a complete hoax.

But what abilities might Toad-Mario have had? Intolerably high-pitched voiceovers? Subservient tendencies? Mediocre kart speed? Oh yes, these and more.
