Boo

Special characteristics: disappears when sighted, sensitive to light, has an especially irritating laugh

Usually found in their natural habitat of forests and ghost houses--but occasionally haunting castles as well--Boos of varying sizes give chase only when their victim's back is turned. Some of them have a tendency to make faces and stick out their tongues, which is funny until they get sucked up through E. Gadd's Poltergust 3000 in Luigi's Mansion or hosed down with the FLUDD in Sunshine.

Boo enjoys hiding in fine paintings, hoarding blue coins and drifting through walls. It does not like being ground-pounded. Super Mario Galaxy introduced the Boo Powerup, turning Mario into a Boo with Wilfred Brimley's mustache which we find to be incredibly disturbing.
