Special characteristics: pilots a grinning wisp of cloud, wears peculiar spectacles

The Super Mario Bros. manual describes Lakitu as "the mysterious turtle who controls the clouds," and there are few better ways to describe him. More often than not Lakitu can be observed hurling spiny beetles from the clouds in an effort to thwart Mario, though he has been known to hide in various other places such as water and pipes. The Fishin' Lakitu will also tempt Mario by dangling a 1up on fishing line, a seemingly nice gesture until, upon grabbing the 1up, Lakitu continues what he does best--throwin' crap at you.
