Carpenter
Job experience: Donkey Kong, et al. (Arcade, 1981)
Nintendo sez: Mario was once a carpenter who saves the princess from Bowser's fiery wrath.
The Bible sez: Jesus was once a carpenter who saves humanity from Satan's fiery wrath.
Obvious allegorical parallels and inappropriate biblical associations notwithstanding, the contemporary Mario is not often seen taking on the responsibilities of a carpenter. However, his earliest game appearance was in Donkey Kong, a game which famously featured the hammer as a power-up. Known then only as "Jumpman," he was of course intent on rescuing the ill-fated princess from the clutches of Donkey Kong, an influential motif which set the standard for countless game plots to follow. We suppose this also grants him the early title of "Professional Rescue Hero."
