Wii Fanboy Poll: New Play Control!: too pricey, or just right?

Next month, Nintendo will debut its New Play Control! (or NEW PLAY CONTROL!) line of games in the west, beginning with Europe. Naturally, we really like the idea of great GameCube games with added 16:9 widescreen support and waggle-based controls, and it could be a licence to print money for Nintendo, if Mario Power Tennis' chart-topping debut in Japan is anything to go by.

Will us westerners gobble up these repackaged games as keenly as Japanese gamers? It's likely to depend heavily on pricing -- the games look set to cost $30 in the U.S., and £30 in the UK. Is that too much, just the right amount, or too little (you maniac)?

Have your say in our poll past the break!

Wii Warm Up: The worst

Alright. We're approaching the end of the month -- and year -- and it's time to ask the big question. The big negative question, anyway. What was the worst Wii game you played this year? Even better, how did it end up in your Wii? Rental? Belonged to a friend or family member? Morbid curiosity? The how is really the important question here.

Wii Warm Up: Did Strong Bad win you over?

Next Monday, the Strong Bad series gets wrapped up on North America's WiiWare service, with the release of the fifth and final chapter. If you bought the previous four and plan to buy 8-bit is Enough, you'll have spent 5,000 Wii points. That's more or less the price of a full game, but the reviews suggest that it's worth the outlay.

As Strong Bad is still the only example of episodic gaming on WiiWare, we're curious about how the game fared. Did you buy just the first chapter, only to decide against purchasing future episodes, or will you be picking up all five? And if you've still not acquired a single chunk of this delightful game, did you try the browser-based sampler we linked to recently? If not, you should -- it's fun ... and free.

In fact, let's make this feel official:

Does your heart burninate for Strong Bad?

Wii Fanboy poll: Want your fortune told?

When it was revealed that Nintendo's latest Channel would be one that reads fortunes, to say we were surprised would've been a huge understatement. Whether or not this will release to territories outside of Japan is anybody's guess, but what we want to know is would you want it to? Do you want to have your fortune read? Head past the break and voice your opinion in our poll below.

Portable SNES vs. portable SNES

Earlier this year, we featured one of the above SNES mods (the one on the right), and now, one of our favorite modders has thrown his hat into the portable SNES ring. The SNES on the left, by kotomi, is the latest in a long line of great-looking mods featured on his site.

But unless you're some sort of ambidextrous, giant-handed mutant freak, you probably can't play two of these at once, and that means you have to choose. Which one do you prefer: kotomi's, or, uh, the other guy's? Unfortunately, we don't know his/her name, though we wish we did!

Which portable SNES do you prefer?

Wii Fanboy poll: The Beatles Rock Band game

So yesterday we sat in on a conference call about the upcoming Beatles Rock Band game. We don't have much in the way of details, other than it'll be a retail disc game and not DLC. When asked about the music in the game, the consoles it'll be on, and the interoperability between Rock Band and its sequel, Rock Band 2, Harmonix, Apple Corp. and MTV Games were kind of hush-hush.

We figured it was time we polled our readers on what they'd want in the game. Head past the break and let your voice be heard!

Wii Fanboy poll: Watch any DVDs on your Wii?

When the news broke yesterday about the Mplayer homebrew application, we were quick to try it out for ourselves. Surprisingly, it wasn't that hard and before you knew it, we were enjoying the Battlestar Galactica DVD you see above. But what about you all? Did you check it out for yourself? Let your voice be heard in our poll past the break.

Wii Fanboy Poll: Do you homebrew?

We talk about homebrew a lot here at Wii Fanboy. We love the community and we love the cool things they're always cooking up. Some things look like they require at least some technical knowledge, some things look like they require absolutely none. What we'd like to know is how many of you enjoy the apps and cool things the homebrew community has come up with. So, head past the break and take part in our poll!

Wii Fanboy E308 Poll: What games series needs Wii MotionPlus?

You've had several years to complain about the missed potential for immersive applications with a Wii Remote supporting true 1:1 response; now that Nintendo has announced the Wii MotionPlus accessory, enabling games to track your movements faster and more accurately, we want to know which game series you feel would benefit the most from the new technology

Are you hoping for the most obvious pick -- compelling lightsaber duels in a Star Wars game? Or are you looking for Wii Sports 2 with support for more subtle movements? If you don't see your preferred series in our list of poll choices, make sure to leave a comment and let us know what game you think needs Wii MotionPlus!

Wii Fanboy Poll: Castlevania coulda, woulda, shoulda?

The official announcement of Castlevania Judgment has given us all kinds of mixed emotions. Change can be a good thing, but whatever happened to, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it?" We've pointed out before that only a minority of fighting games are actually good, as much as we love the genre. Then there's this whole 3D business that might cause some worry. On the other hand, though, we have promises of Wi-Fi battles, DS-Wii connectivity, and the neat idea of laying the smackdown with some of our favorite 'Vania characters.

What do you wish we were getting with Castlevania Wii? Something familiar, something new, or maybe just something new that's not a fighter? Cast your vote after the break.

Wii Fanboy poll: Are you rocking out?

Rock Band is an incredibly popular game. On systems other than the Wii. With the Wii port lacking many features the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game enjoy, many in the Wii camp feel cheated and neglected. Well, now is the time to have your voice heard. We've put up a poll past the break, so cruise on over and cast your vote!

Wii Fanboy Poll: Best control scheme for Mario Kart?

We've heard from a lot of you that Mario Kart Wii is awesome -- we completely agree. Some of you were even surprised to find out that you actually liked using the Wii Wheel.

But now that you've had some time to play around with the game, you have to have a favorite control scheme. So, what is it?

Hit up our poll after the break to let us know, and feel free to explain why in the comments section.

Wii Fanboy poll: Best way to play Brawl?

So, you've had more than 24 hours to play Brawl. You've unlocked several characters, took the fight online and probably spent some time gawking at your trophies. But, the real question lurking in the back of many a fanboy's (and fangirl's) mind is: which control scheme is the best to go with?

Wii Fanboy poll: How can Activision make it up to you?

You know, the whole Guitar Hero 3 debacle has been our minds a lot lately. Mainly because folks are finally starting to get their packages that they send their busted copy of the game out with (you know, where they wait 3-4 weeks for a new disc). We can't be the only ones peeved at this whole state of affairs, right?

So, as a responsible blog, we decided to toss up a poll with some ideas on how Activision can win back some of you angry wanna-be rockers. If you want your voice heard, head past the break.
