Sin and Punishment 2 trailers from the Japanese Nintendo Channel

The first trailer is all gameplay, demonstrating the ability to shoot from the ground or fly at any time, and also revealing a Bangai-O Spirits-like ability to knock back large missiles. The second trailer is an unexpectedly somber (and incomprehensibly Japanese) overview of the story. Warning: don't get too excited about the story in any Treasure game.

Gotta say that the controls will probably make more sense with the wiimote

Play-Asia don't fail me now.

Game looks pretty awesome.
Never played the first one but I have been tempted to buy it on VC a couple times.

I bought it on the VC and found it to be fun, but very difficult to control and therefore tough to play generally. It's a hardcore game, no doubt.

"a Bangai-O Spirits-like ability to knock back large missiles."
Any chance to mention Bangai, huh. Anyway, I think you could knock back missiles in the 64 version, but I'd have to load up my Wii and check it out.
Why isn't Bangai 64 on the VC? A fear of diminished returns after the translation costs? I don't know, but I'd buy the game.

Yeah, you could deflect missles in S&P1.
It kind of seems like you're not too familiar with S&P, JC, so hopefully in future updates on the game, you guys will let someone else write the post. And yeah, Treasure focuses on gameplay over story but the stories are usually pretty interesting so I don't know what that last comment was about but I guess bashing stuff and acting as if your opinion is the consensus is pretty much what I expect from joystiq.

For a Nintendo made game, I was expecting the graphics to be considerably better, but as long as the game plays better then the first I guess it doesn't matter.
GohanGVO @ Oct 14th 2009 9:43PM
Nintendo is publishing the game; Treasure is the developer.
Hardy @ Oct 15th 2009 1:56AM
Oh. My bad, I thought they were a second party developer.

Revealing a Bangai-O Spirits-like ability? You mean a Sin & Punishment-like ability? It isn't exactly a new feature reveal, knocking back missiles was heavily utilized in the first game.

Looks fantastic. And don't diss the story, people. Despite being hard to understand, S&P1's story was cool as all heck once you got your head round it.

Online leaderboards around 1:30 on that first video. Has both the score and the controller (wiimote, classic, zapper, gc). The font looks awful.

Online Co-op would have been a nice touch
cylet @ Oct 17th 2009 1:38PM
is there any co-op?
