What is it with WiiWare games and deceptivetitles? Despite the somewhat lurid name given to its titular creatures, Learning with the Pooyoos is anything but. We have no idea why these critters are called Pooyoos, especially considering they appear to be just cutesy-fied animals. As the title implies, Learning with the Pooyoos is geared toward children, and aims to teach them about things like shapes and colors.
Its greatest contribution, however, is undoubtedly the theme song, which has got to be the record holder for most instances of the word "poo" in a children's song. Enjoy the distilled madness in the trailer above. Learning with the Pooyoos should hit WiiWare in the UK on September 18.
It's so ambitious that a Wiiware game would try to appeal to that Young Kids demographic! I thought EVERYONE knew that the Wii was exclusively for hardcore shooters and zombie-rape-murder simulators. Learning With The Pooyoo's is gonna go a long way to establish some versatility on this console.
( I was honestly getting a little sick of all those M-rated games. Very refreshing! )
I generally avoid flicking through the WiiWare catalog for fear of being offended by stuff like this. I tunnel-visioned my way to World of Goo and SBCG4AP.
There's a lot of negative comments about this (or at least jokes pointed at it), but this is actually a very good extension of video games. Perhaps it's only because I studied child development and disorders, but interactive media is a great method of learning for children, especially ones who may have disabilities.

I'd ragequit, but I NEED to play Red Steel 2 and other M. Oh well, it's only shovelware, it's hardly cancer or something.

It's geared towards preschoolers, but all the text was in cursive...
