5TH Cell creative director Jeremiah Slaczka pointed out this
picture, taken by Krystian Majewski, of the
GamesCom 2009 Scribblenauts booth. It's ... a
bit bigger than the E3 booth, which consisted of two demo DS stations in the back of the largely Batman-themed WB enclosure. Like,
behind it. "It's awesome WB is embracing it so much," Slaczka told us about the increased presence, "and really supporting the game."
Majewski's Flickr gallery also contains images of items summoned in
Scribblenauts, including stuff we hadn't seen before like "river," "echidna" and "lich." Hey,
topical! For more
Scribblenauts fun, check out the newly redesigned
US site, which now shows a Flash simulation of gameplay in the background!

Well you've lost a reader joystiq. Scribblenauts is cool, but I'm sick of you pimping out the game on a daily basis. Enough is enough.

Bye! :)

Well you've kept a reader joystiq. Scribblenauts is amazing, but I wish you could pimp out the game on a daily basis. There can never be enough.

Yeah, because meaningless non-stories like "Oh Scribblenauts has another booth set up somewhere" that tell you absolutely nothing new about the game are a must. Keep drinking that Kool-Aid pal.

Looks to me like you're still reading.

This story does tell you something though. Scribblenauts has gone from being a minor afterthought for it's publisher at conventions to deserving of a major (and looks to be expensive) booth. That's a radical shift in attention, and that makes it a story, even if it's not one you care to know about.

Honestly, to me this game hasn't been overhyped. The game is hyped, but for good reason. I'd rather call it, anticipation.
idowantpie @ Aug 22nd 2009 1:03PM
The game isn't hyped anywhere except on this website. Actually, apparently its a hyped "media obsession" with thousands of booths dominating or country, but I would have never heard about it if it wasn't for this website.

I agree, i would have never heard so much about Scribblenauts if it wasnt for this website. 5th cell should cut joystiq in on there profits, i would have never thought about the game if it werent for this website.

actuallly this game has gotten a large amount of coverage on G4 network, i believe it was one of their game of the show winners on their E3 Special... A large cable network calling it game of show probably could be considered "hype"
