Give Dementium II's box art a hand

Regardless of how good Renegade Kid's Dementium II turns out to be -- probably pretty good, given the reception of the first game -- one thing is not in dispute: It's got the creepiest damned box we've seen in a long time. It's the sort of thing you don't keep out in the open, the sort of box you make sure is stuffed deep down in the darkest drawer you have. You know, right next to your copy of Elf Bowling.

I'm excited to see such a range of products on the DS, but this will NOT be a financial success - it just can't be. Anyone walking down the DS aisle in their local games retailer will be instantly put off. Not because it's a scary boxart, but because it's a scary boxart for a DS game.

I quit the first game not too far in. The hour or two you spend searching through a bunch of hallways of locked doors isn't enough, dying to an enemy that's respawned for the 5th time and having to start the chapter over is.

I think they fixed most of the issues in the European version.

It's a pretty cool cover, but that is NOT going to sell games.
I could see this being a bonus cover underneath the first, less disturbing one.

It got really repeptitive after a while. Still I think it was well done and the story was great. Hopefully, the level-design will be better this time around and the gameplay a little more varied.
