Famitsu hands Monster Hunter 3 a perfect 40
The true question is: Will it receive such critical acclaim when it hits the States and Europe in early 2010?
[Thanks, Victor]

Another nintendo exclusive getting a perfect score from Famitsu? I'm shocked!
redjack @ Aug 6th 2009 6:40PM
I'll agree that its pretty disturbing that almost half of Famitsu's perfect scores have been in the last two years. Not a Brawl fan and we haven't seen 428 over here so I can't really tell you if your Wii bias is founded in this case or not.
But can't you be at least a little bit happy for Capcom's first 40? Even a little?

428 FSD is easily the best visual novel ever.
Some of Famitsu's perfect scores like Brawl are pretty clearly built on hype, though.

oh come now, you guys could've come up with a much more clever title.

Are those the real graphics in the game? They look extremely good if they are, some of the best I have seen in a Wii game. With a score like that, I'm pretty sure this will be one of my must-have Wii games of 2010!

A perfect score from Famitsu guarantees this game 3m sold in Japan at least. Nintendo is not going to be pulling punches with this one. I can only imagine the monthly sales figures on this one.
redjack @ Aug 6th 2009 6:32PM
Didn't Vagrant Story get the shaft in sales though which is why we've never seen a sequel?
There's no doubt this'll be huge in Japan. Its like Pokemon and WoW got it on and gave birth to this... er, monster.

^ I'm upvoting you for giving me that awesome mental picture.

My money's on 50 plus comments this article!
And I'm not even going to bother responding to tmac any more, he doesn't deserve the satisfaction.
But this game looks incredible, this is going to be my second pre-order ever (the first being The Conduit).
MRLN, Fountain of Wisdom and Wit @ Aug 6th 2009 10:32PM
Can I have your money then?
S. Tiger @ Aug 7th 2009 2:15AM
Second preorder ever? Damn dude, I've been preordering games since I was like, 12. I really wish I could have had that P.N.03 preorder bonus, though...

People may agree/disagree famitsu's perfect score games. Personally, i think if a game could get a 37-39, that's almost a guarantee that it's a good game, let alone a 40. So whether this game deserves a 40 or not is really irrelevant, because i'm pretty darn sure it would be an above average game.
MRLN, Fountain of Wisdom and Wit @ Aug 6th 2009 10:34PM
I've never played Monster Hunter, but this will be my first. It looks like my ultimate definition of "game".

Famitsu hands Nintendogs a perfect 40

And Nintendogs redefined what a pet simulator could be. If you don't like the genre, fine, but that doesn't mean it didn't excel in it.

Take that, Gigapet!

I just hope the single player missions aren't so f*****g hard this time round. I tried to love the original on PS2, finally giving up under some tremendous pressure :--/

After reading this article and watching the trailer, I am definitely checking this game out. Thank you, Capcom.

Great game. I imported it as soon as I could and can't wait for it to his US/EU shores. This game is deserving of the 40 it got and it shows. Graphics and sound go hand in hand with each other (even on an underpowered console compared to the others) and will astonish you while the control mechanics are what every game should include; the option between classic control settings or wiimote/nunchuck control settings. The only thing that will seal the success of the MH series outside of Japan is if they can allow for free online play again (PS2 MH had free online play outside of Japan, while MH and MH2 Japan had p2p online) as a p2p plan I think may hurt the series more than it would to help it if they are trying to get more outside followers.
