3-in-1 Wii controller adapter now a 2-in-1, coming out in September

Innex informed us that the device has been delayed until September, due to "configuration issues" with the N64 controller port. Also, as a result of that same problem, the device will only have NES and SNES ports. Innex tells us that it is still working on the N64 compatibility. We wonder if the updated 2-in-1 device will still be shaped like a tiny Nintendo 64.

Well that's kind of lame. The sideways Wiimote is basically shaped like a NES controller and the Classic Controller is more-or-less a SNES controller with analog sticks and two extra tiny shoulder buttons. The N64 port is the only one that really makes sense.

I agree 100%

Agreed. The Classic Controller is basically a SNES controller w/ 2 analog sticks & the ZL/ZR buttons, which is why I don't care for the SNES/Super Famicom Wii controller.
Now if Nintendo made a N64 controller for the Wii, I'd totally get that so I could play Sin & Punishment & Star Fox 64 the way they were meant to be played.
Sadly, only the N64 part of that adapter had me interested. Now I don't care.

This, pretty much. I really don't see what the point in making this is anymore, since having an actual N64 controller is the only thing that would make a noticeable improvement in the VC games.

Does anyone have N64 controllers without wobbly analog sticks? All of my old ones are super wobbly.
BrokenTriforce @ Aug 3rd 2009 6:50PM
I blame Smash Bros. for my wobbly control sticks.

I have two that are in good shape... One is just slightly wobbly... and the other is about perfect... I also have a couple Superpad 64 plus's that are perfect...

Mine are wobbly from Mario Party... Man the blisters i got from that game... Making the shy guy all away around the room... good times...

Dammit i already have a NES to GC and SNES to GC, the only one i cared about was the N64 >:(
KaBob799 @ Aug 3rd 2009 10:15PM
Seems kind of silly now, the n64 controller is the most needed one.
zonic505 @ Aug 3rd 2009 10:43PM
Dear Nintendo,
Please make a N64 controller for the Wii like you did for the SNES/Super Famicom. The Classic Controller is very similar to the SNES (save for analog sticks & 2 small buttons between the L & R). The N64 controller is very different from the Classic Controller. Playing Sin & Punishment, Star Fox 64, & other N64 games feels awkward on the Classic Controller (& GCN controller). It would be the 1st Club Nintendo product I would get. Please make this happen.
DarkSan00 @ Aug 3rd 2009 11:29PM
Why do you all want the N64 feel, if it's not as confortable nor easy to use as a gamecube controller, classic controller, or hell if you can, a classic controller pro. It's WAY better. Sure, you have to use a stick rather than the good ol' c buttons, but meh, it's not that at all.

Any clue if this would work on the GameCube?
I'm assuming it would plug into the Wii with the same connection as a GC controller. I don't know of any reasons why you would need to use it on a GC but it would be cool if it worked.
I don't even have a Wii, but I've tried playing Super Mario Bros. with the Wii controller and I was getting so frustrate because it wasn't the same controller I always ever played it with. I'd look into getting this if I owned a Wii.

This guy's been making N64 to GC adapter cables for ages now:
http://www.raphnet-tech.com/products/n64_to_wii/index.php?category=
It even supports the rumble pack on games with GC pad rumble (i.e. not VC games). There's a guide on his website on how to make one yourself if you're DIY minded.
It works well for SNES VC games too, since the A, B, down C and left C can substitute for A, B, X, and Y.

So much for having decent Ocarina playing controls again.
Fab @ Aug 5th 2009 5:41AM
Dude, my post, right above yours. You can buy an N64 to GC adapter right now.

I've been waiting for confirmation that it was either cancelled or delayed after the review of the device revealed issues with the button configurations (i.e. it was exact but the Virtual console games were altered to better fit the configuration of the classic controller, which has a different control setup than the N-64 controller). I was actually hoping for a revised version with all three and programmable button layouts, but if I'm going to have to buy it seperately anyway--and possibly not before the end of the year--then I might as well take a risk with the raphnet version (in fact I just ordered it). I do like the idea of getting the other adapters, though--despite what's been said, there are items of interest for those systems that I would love to be able to use. The NES advantage for one (I hated the NES Max), and the Capcom pad for the Super Nes (the one with the pistol grip--I loved using that thing for Street Fighter). That said, I have neither of those things at the moment and have instead been amazing an interesting collection of N-64 gear since May (besides a regular controller, I have a Mad Catz flight sim style double joystick (which looks to work with Star Fox 64), a V3 steering wheel (don't know if it'll work or not for Mario Kart or Cruisin', those things never worked for every racing game in the first place), and an Arcade Shark joystick).
