If there's a Tatsunoko vs. Capcom sequel, it will be on Wii
There aren't any concrete plans for a sequel to Tatsunoko vs. Capcom yet (but it's Capcom, so there will be a sequel), but producer Ryota Niitsuma has some ideas about one, as revealed in an interview with Siliconera. Asked whether a followup game would appear on the Wii or HD consoles, he said "As the way I'm seeing it now, the sequels will be on the Wii as well." He actually had some nice, fan-friendly reasoning for the declaration, different from his earlier statement about technical issues keeping the series on Wii. "If people are going to invest in this game, like we want them to," he said, "they're going to go out and buy arcade sticks. It would be a disservice to fans to just put out this one game that they buy sticks for and then they have nothing more to play."
Niitsuma also spoke a little more about the absence of Hakushon Daimao and the plan to replace him with "around three to four, maybe more" and the difficulty of designing online games for Wii.

I got a feeling! C'mooooooooooooooon Gene!
Also, while we're on the subject,
" (but it's Capcom, so there will be a sequel)"
Soooo...you're saying that there WILL be a God Hand sequel after all?
YAAAAY!!!!!

Looks like you and I will be buying TvC again. And I don't regret it if they give me online play and three or four characters. I swear if they give us Dante and Gene, I'll fellate the first Capcom official I see.
...Wait, no that's right.

I want that artwork in the collector's edition!

COME ON GENEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dv8thwonder @ Jul 31st 2009 7:42PM
They need to put that art scroll in the collector's edition.

You know, I might even forgive Capcom for the Resident Evil fiasco. Might. Monster Hunter 3 just needs to get here soon, and we need to get an RE that isn't a rail shooter.

As one of the few Killer7 fans, I'd love to see Dan Smith in this. Not a clue how it would work, but I'd still love to see it.
Santos L. Halper @ Aug 1st 2009 3:01PM
Dan was the most badass of the Smiths but I think Coyote would be a better fit for TvC. Or they could just blow my mind and put them all in there.
Santos L. Halper @ Aug 1st 2009 6:05PM
I just realised I meant to say Con, not Coyote.

I doubt it's ability to sell, but given precedent for Versus games, Capcom shouldn't be expecting the moon either
A sequel, i hope, would mean a new Versus game, and not Tatsunoko vs Capcom 2. Shonen Jump vs Capcom is just begging to be done.
Tim @ Aug 2nd 2009 7:54PM
Shonen Jump VS Capcom would be OVER 9000 times worse than your basic Viper Beam spam.
Henry @ Aug 1st 2009 8:05PM
I'm glad they're going to stay loyal to the Wii. I've had my doubts in the past but the Wii definitely has a plethora a excellent exclusives that make the purchase worthwhile.

If there's a Tatsunoko vs. Capcom sequel, they should replace Tatsunoko with Marvel.
SoshiKitai @ Aug 2nd 2009 1:46PM
:P HA!

"I miss Viper Beaming all day and night."
Fixed.

Personally I'd like to thank the guy for making that statement. Being a fan who went out and bought some nintendo Hori sticks (which are fantastic by the way!) Am stoked to know that I can count on Capcom to dish out some more of there fighting games. Capcom makes great! fighting games, now if only we SNK could be lured into making more games for the Wii... Meh, I can only hope that Orochi Saga, and Samarai Showdown Anthology sells are doing well or pick up.
