Introducing new characters of some kind in TMNT Smash Up

The latest TMNT Smash Up trailer introduces Donatello and ... uh ... some other people. Man, we have been out of touch with Ninja Turtles for a long time. Who are all these people? We recognize Karai from Tournament Fighters (you may recognize her from the comics or whatever), but we totally had to look up "Nightwatcher," who turns out to be Raphael in a costume. That's really weird.

The good news is that even if you don't follow the TMNT cast of thousands, the characters look fun to play. A turtle superhero! A woman with a sword! A robot! Totally great. And if you do know the characters, hey! There they are! See the trailer after the break.

The robot is Fugitiod. He's from back in the black & white days.

Karai is actually from the comics too. She first appeared in the City at War arc back in 1992

Maybe it's just the video, but sound and music are both pretty terrible... not good signs of a quality product.

Very excited about this. Starting to look like Ubisoft digged in to the Comics to grab Fugitoid (can't recall if he's been in any of the recent cartoons).

I'm hoping Ubisoft continues to throw as many fighters from the Turtle Universe as possible.

I'm hoping to see Slash, Manta Ray, Armaggedon - hell, there are just tons of cool characters that can come from the Turtles Universe.

I'd also love to see Cow Lick come down and scoop up all the fighters and take them to another arena mid-match, just for fun :)

And to the comment above saying "SSB Brawl Ripoff" - I sure as hell hope it is, because if it plays/controls like Smash Bros with a TMNT cast, that will be one hell of a game! (and hopefully this game features online that unlike SSBB, actually works!)
