Nintendo sneaking a new Chibi-Robo game out this month

The new game takes place in the home of a grown-up version of Jenny, the frog-obsessed little girl from the original game. Chibi-Robo sweeps, vacuums, scrubs with a toothbrush, and sifts through dust to find gems, which he trades for money that can be used to buy things from a home shopping channel.
Happy Rich Cleanup is coming out in Japan on July 23, which seems really soon! See the trailer after the break, and see short video clips of the game here.

I didn't like the gamecube game because of the odd controls. Maybe with Wii controls it would work better.
I never played the DS one.

I loved the DS version of Chibi Robo. The Gamecube version was hella cute but I never finished it; I'd guess I got about 2/3 of the way through. I will *certainly* buy the new DS version if it ever comes to the US. If it weren't a game that requires a certain amount of reading, I'd buy the Japanese version!
Chibi Robo ... it's no accident that his first name means "cute." :-)

Actually, "chibi" doesn't mean "cute". It means "little".

Wait, I'm confused.
All you do is clean and vacuum for the messy kids? Is that really fun?

it has to be said that, on description alone, this sounds like the worst game in the history of time.
a game about tidying??

Orion, it'd be easy to look at gameplay video from the original and think the same thing, but really the goal of that game was to save a family from falling apart. For appearing to be such an E-rated "kiddie" game, it was really layered. I think it was one of the best Gamecube games. I assume there's going to be some similar storyline here, since it looks much more involved than the first DS game.
Park Patrol kind of disappointed me after the depth of the Gamecube one, but I'm really looking forward to this. Hope there's an English version, and if not, I hope there are enough rabid Chibi fans to do a fan translation.

If they could fix a few of the VERY annoying mechanics in the first one, I will give this game another look.
Still the game was an enjoyable experience.

I couldn't get into Park Patrol, but I loved the original, and this looks a lot more like it. Bring it!
