EA celebrates Nerf milestone with Nerf 2: N-Strike Elite

Most important among the new features of Nerf 2: N-Strike Elite, of course, is the new version of the Nerf Switch Shot EX-3 gun, which works both as a standalone Nerf dart gun and a Wii gun shell. The new blue gun includes a red decoder lens that reveals secret messages in the game -- otherwise, it appears identical to the previous (kind of awesome) gun controller.
The game includes new in-game weapons and upgrades, and "enhanced co-op play" with jump-in play. Nerf 2: N-Strike Elite will be out this fall.

If Nerf really hopes to be a player in the video game biz, they either need to change their name or come up with a new name for their gaming merchandise. Because they obviously missed the memo about "Nerf" becoming a negative game term.
From Wikipedia :"Nerf has become internet slang for 'weaken'."

There's no such thing as bad press. Just ask Hormel.

1- That translucent red plastic 'secrets' thing is going to be a *bitch* if you don't have your brightness/contrast settings exactly where they want them.
2- Storm Eagle, I reaaaaaaaally don't think Nerf is looking for much crossover between people buying their games and people playing online games enough to know what 'nerf' means in that context. And even then, I reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally don't think people are stupid enough to see a game called "Nerf!" and think "OH MAN THEY MADE MY CHARACTER TOTALLY CRAP NOW I HATE IT".
