Deadly Creatures may have failed, but its tech lives on

THQ CEO Brian Farrell, however, isn't dwelling on the sales or declaring no more Wii development. He offered a surprisingly positive outlook on the situation in an interview with G4's Feed. "... we have great Wii technology there now and so we're developing other games -- stay tuned for the announcements," he said, "but we intend to leverage that great technology on the Wii in the future."
Having a well-designed Wii engine is good news indeed, especially since Deadly Creatures was a pretty nice-looking game (well, actually it was disgusting, but in a technically impressive way).

Didn't that game feature a tarantula and a scorpion? Just clarifying. ^_^

Well now hold on just a minute, Matisyahu. I though a tarantula WAS a spider!?!

I find your lack of Dead Space girl.......disturbing

Dead Space Extraction screamy head is on the tarantula, but it has it's back turned so you can't see it, of course.

Deadly Creatures was a really fantastic concept. The story and art were pretty great as well. The problem was that the controls and combat were buggy (haha) as all get out. Toward the end of the game there were creatures that could only be killed if you attacked the right part of their body but they would always get stuck in a crack so that that part was covered. Or you would have to attack a very small creature but you had no way of locking on, etc etc.

Yeah, but even though it was a bit buggy, the game was so much fun it was worth it. I would buy a sequel in a second!

Wait, the game was already released?

What are they going to use their great Wii tech for? Didn't they say they were going to go back to making mini games and casual stuff if Deadly Creatures tanked?

I liked it, was the first wii game i played since smash bros brawl game out in july(uk) so I was really excited. finished it in like 7hrs or so. It had real potential and they definitely should make another one. BUT. Change weird waggle controls some worked others did not. NO game should require you to turn the pad up side down THIS and on ps3 rag doll kung fu. it doesnt work. I think this would have been a god of war for the wii IF there were more enemies on screen/ more enemies to fight against. It would nearly get there when you had to fight 3 spiders at a time or 2 lizards need to expand on that. IF faq just copy god of war to the tee for the next one. I just needed more polish but give it a go it a 7.5 out of 10

So people don't buy a game that freaks them out, AND looks silly at first?
Shock.
