I'm a couple hours into it and never played the original. Aside from a couple of chuckles the story and environment haven't really moved me (And one of those was ripped from Monty Python's Holy Grail). And I just don't feel evil enough. Way too much helping going on. I'd feel a little better if I backhanded villagers out of my way when I walked through towns.
Still really need more time with it I guess.
