The Conduit delayed in Europe, Australia [update]

Sega has announced that the European release of The Conduit has been delayed from its original June 26 date to July 10. According to CVG, unspecified issues with the game's multi-language European localization are responsible for the holdup.
VOOKS has also confirmed a delay for the Australian release of High Voltage's FPS. Once given a June 25 release date, the game has been pushed back to July 16. Neither Sega nor VOOKS offered any reason for this version's delay, and the Australian release shouldn't be affected by the same localization problems. At this point, your best shot at playing The Conduit next week remains the "living in North America" strategy, or the slightly less drastic "importing from North America" strategy.

Isn't this how all the overhyped games end up.
First, there's the announcement, promises promising the impossible. Then we have the fanboy-development orgy, full of crude pictures, ejaculatory hyperbole and loads more filth. Thirdly, we have the silence. Then comes the invetitable delays which the fanboys, who've managed to pay attention, chalk down to polishing up said product. Finally, there's the release and the subsequent disappointment.
It's sad and redundant, as is this game.

It has been getting sound reviews, actually. Nothing earth-shattering, but it's not bad.
KaBob799 @ Jun 17th 2009 2:04PM
And polishing it up can't really apply here since its not delayed everywhere.

i'll be here to laugh in your face (or at least at your avatar) when you see the success of this game. and don't EVEN mention IGN's or GI's reviews as they tend to have their heads up their asses. i just love it when a troll come's around. just show's how pathetic you and ALL other trolls (tmac, i have my eye on you) really are. -1 point for you sir.

"just show's how pathetic you and ALL other trolls (tmac, i have my eye on you) really are"
how dare he have an opinion that doesn't line up with yours
some of you are just plain idiotic sometimes.
this game will likely be successful (not incredibly so, but it's getting its name out there - saw three commercials for it last night alone), but honestly, it just doesn't look that good.

I don't know... if the Multiplayer demo i got to play at E3 is ANY indication, it's NOT going to disappoint. not at all... Mind you,it's not the best game ever, but a very very solid FPS with some AMAZING and hugely customizable controls.
Dobbybabee @ Jun 17th 2009 12:18PM
it's been reviewed as the best FPS on wii. Sure, not the best storyline and all, but it's the best FPS. And personally, I was fine with Red Steel, so this should be good too.
James @ Jun 17th 2009 2:39PM
It doesn't have coop does it. Or splitscreen?
If RedSteel had had either of them then I would have loved it. It was pretty fun but those would have made it golden.
They were so close on this one!

My guess is they are making sure it looks good for PAL TV's .
I heard some games play differently using those TV's . Madworld is supposed to be choppy and almost unplayable on PAL TV's.
Robert Jung @ Jun 18th 2009 12:53AM
Sorry to hear about the delay for PAL gamers, but I can't wait to get my mitts on this game next week. Just hope Gamestop doesn't have a shipping delay...

Awesome! Now instead of this game being released the day before holidays it's being released one week afterwards! Hooray! Now I can play the only game I have been hyped about for years non-stop right in the middle of the most important term of the most important year of my education.
CJLopez @ Jun 18th 2009 11:23AM
