Rumor: New Tingle game in the works

We love that we live in a world where an almost universally loathed character like Tingle could continue to get work. For our part, we adore the idea that a 35-year-old man obsessed with fairies continues to appear in Nintendo games, though we get that not all of you share our adoration.

You're just going to indulge us then as we squeal for glee at the site of this Famitsu ad, which seems to hint at a new outing for our favorite fairy lover. Not that we'll ever get to play it.

I'm still waiting for the DS game to come to America. it's really expensive to import from Europe even though its english.

Possibly because he was my least favorite character from my least favorite zelda game ........

not that it was bad or I hated the art style but the whole tingle aspect of the game to get the map, to the map, decode the map, get the triforce piece and repete was the needless game lengthening mechanic that stopped me dead in my tracks after enjoying the game up until that point.

at least thats why I HATE tingle ..... and consider windwaker dead to me...... strangely enough I loved Phantom Hourglass and didn't mind repeating that temple .... go figure

I can't stand Tingle - he was ok up until WW. Now I loath the fucking guy.

It's just an irritating, game inflating character that adds nothing (or very little) to the IP.

Of course, whatever floats your boat.

He's not universally hated. They like him in Japan. You know, where they make the games. That's why they make them there and don't ship them here.

I liked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland. It's not only funny, but a critique of unbridled capitalism too. Nice.

I think the main reason he's widely loathed in the West is that most gamers are too insecure to laugh at themselves.

I mean seriously, how many 30+ year-old men play Zelda games, have been playing them for years, and on some level are pretending to be little green-clad elf boys when they do?

So when you've got a character like Tingle, I think people have trouble with him becasue he's a little bit too close to home.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

In all fairness, Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland was actually a fairly solid game, doing many tasks to earn treasures and make your way to the fabled Rupeeland. It had a funny presentation, and features japanese actor HARD GAY, 4 times even.

...Me liking this game, and my name are just a coincidence.
