Rumor: Retro Studios hints at news today

Despite the departure of Retro senior staff to form Armature Studio, Retro is still in operation, as a Nintendo-owned developer. Which means that if there is some Retro news (beyond Metroid Prime Trilogy, which we know is Nintendo-related), it'll probably be related to Nintendo, as well. Odd, then, that the pleasant surprise is supposed to happen today, when Nintendo's keynote doesn't happen until tomorrow.

It's about time. After MP3 they said they're done with Metroid and then they've been completely silent ever since. We better get more than some vague announcement today-or tommorow. I'm not to optimistic about the legitimacy of this 'tweet' but unless everyone at Retro has been sitting around getting high since MP3 released then they should have something to present by now.

A new 2.5D Metroid (think Klonoa). Also, the disc will contain all previous 2D Metroid releases from NES, Gameboy, etc.

Uh-oh! Looks like the whole thing was just someone's crusade to get twitter banned from gaf...whatever the hell that is. Still don't see why Retro wouldn't have anything to show off tomorrow. They've had plenty of time.
Also, I agree that Matt Cassamassina sucks.
