Amazon lists Professor Layton 2 for August
If you're the type that's inclined to believe retailer release dates, then take a look at what Amazon says about Professor Layton's second outing, The Diabolical Box. The online retailer has the game pegged down for August 24, which is just three months away.
This is a good thing, considering that, for the longest time, we've been feeling like young Luke there, glazed over and stunned, staring into that half-opened glowing box of doom. Just what new adventures lay ahead? It looks like we'll find out soon enough.

Exciting, I'm ready for another adventure, but it should be noted that Prof. Layton appears to have a problem. Illiteracy. Throughout the first game any time he needed to read something he handed it off to Luke to read. Makes me wonder how he got his Ph.D.

He doesn't need to be educated anymore - Luke needs practice!

Well it's about time.

YES!!! Now all I have to do is wait until August. Layton is the game I throw at people when I want to turn them on to the DS. It was in my top 3 of last years games.

FREAKIN' FINALLY!!!!!! XD

This was long overdue considering the original sold over 2 million copies.
I have a feeling NOA was purposely holding the game for marketing reasons... Like every other game that seems to never come over here for about a year.

Some times retail dates that are too good to be true, really are.
Like Amazon listing Black Sigil (DS) for over a year, and continually re-posting release dates. Or how about Metacritic listing Dragon Quest 9 for June 1st. (the same day as Dragon Quest 6. http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ds/dragonquest9)
At least I won't be the one to buy this game, as my Mother found out, last fall, that there are other DS games she likes other than Zoo Keeper and Puzzle Quest.

I hope this date is correct. I really like the Professor Layton series. And now I don't have to import the other games and buy My Japanese coach just to read them, :-p
But I'll wait and see if E3 has the actual date announced, though.

The last date I went to amazon for was Last Remnant, and they were way wrong. They said spring this year, but now last remnant ps3 is nowhere to be found. I don't care what the reviews said, I want Last Remnant. Reviews are worthless anyway. Last Remnant one of the 4 reasons I bought my PS3 (Final Fantasy XIII, FFversusXIII, Disgaea 3, and Last Remnant. Any news on its release?
Oh, and yes I want this game. Professor Layton wicked

I just finished Professor Layton and the Curious Village a matter of minutes ago, and I can hardly wait for the next. I can't even begin to grasp how it feels like to be waiting for it for a year and a half like many others xD

WHY ISN'T THIS ON THE MAIN SITE!!!! ah, I'm so glad I found it though.
Kayla @ May 23rd 2009 8:21PM
Woohoo! When i got the first Professor Layton i beat it in a day. Although i did have to get online and look up help for some of the puzzles. But i'm excited anyway. :)

I think I speak for every Layton fan in the U.S. when I say, "FAN-MOTHERFREAKING-TASTIC!"
And yes, I am a Layton fanboy, and no, I am not ashamed one bit.
oumigi @ May 24th 2009 8:42AM
OMG. I can't wait. I'll probably get so addicted that I beat it in a day or two like in the first game.

Well, I just went to pre-order (with great eagerness) and found the link dead. Searches for Professor Layton do not turn this up, nor do Diabolical Box or Layton Diabolical. So someone jumped the gun on putting this on the site, I guess. Does this even give me hope that the game is coming sometime in the future?
Sadly, no.
Jedi_Liz @ May 24th 2009 12:17PM
Gone for me, too!
It was in my amazon shopping cart, but I hadn't preordered it. I am betting someone DID jump the gun. Well, perhaps at E3 they'll announce the date.
Nicholas @ May 24th 2009 7:06PM
Hopefully in the two years of abscence, the developers made the sequel worthwhile, and didn't rush the game. Prof Layton and the Curious Village FTW!!
