Off-screen Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings footage
Several off-screen videos of Indiana Jones and The Staff of Kings from Wiitalia give us the best idea so far of what to expect from the game. At times, the footage reveals how the Wiimote and nunchuk will be utilized in gameplay. The last clip shows the Wiimote being used to fly a plane. Check out all the vids after the break and prepare to whip it good.

Looks pretty good for an off-screen Wii game but the combat looks repetitive.

Yikes, serious camera issues. Combat looks repetitive but the player seems to suck, so I'm not sure if he wasn't using the full litany of moves. The environmental stuff is neat, slamming against wall and floor, everything's a weapon, and swinging from bars. But it mostly looks like a beat-em-up of not much depth. In the movies Indy frequently gets his ass kicked, so the amateur, underhanded, utilitarian fighting is pretty well represented, not sure how fun it will be though. The canyon flying part might be fun or torture depending on the controls.
That camera, though. Damn.

Watching it a second time...
I think at some point he's using a broom to smack around some Chinee, and he throws the broom into the last thug's hands who catches it, throwing him off for a second, then Indy decks him and knocks him out.
If that's what I saw, that's fucking awesome.

Based on the comments on the Wiitalia site, I'm starting to think I'm one of the few people looking forward to this one!

"That's one hell of a clothes line!"
Oh wait, this isn't a caption contest?

This is looking like a pretty good game. I'm with the others in that the combat looks like it might get repetitive, but if there are more environmental things to take advantage of like the water pipe (which I love how it busts and starts spraying water when he puts pressure on it to kick that guy) or slamming into walls, etc, it might help break things up. And, gotta admit, they have the sound right. :) Music sounded, in parts, right out of the movies, and that Indy theme gets me going any and every time I hear it. I'm really looking forward to this so far. :)

The visuals do look impressive if anything. Yes, the gameplay seems to be repetative, but honestly, how many games out there lack repetative gameplay eh? The originality well is running dry after all. I can't say anything else about the game because I haven't played it yet, just like most people here. When it's released, I'll be sure to try it. Hopefully the end product has more depth.

Reviewing the videos after I showed them to some friends, it turns out that I overlooked the AI. It seems weak in parts, especially where Indy is concrened. Perhaps it was to cater to the style of gameplay, but it looks unpolished to me. Still, the game's in development and that can be finetuned before its release. I hope.
