Seriously, EA? Inside your long press release about the Wii version of Madden NFL 10, you point out the new, cartoon looks? Don't play up the fact that this year's edition is entirely new and built from the ground up on the Wii. Don't elaborate on how the game will "deliver a social, dynamic experience for the entire living room" or anything. Nope, just tell us how great it looks, sit back, and prepare to count all the money.Madden NFL 10 sacks retail on August 14, 2009.

C'mon wii owners you don't care about Madden! who can blame you. Anyways I am wondering what do they mean by 'genre-defining art style' mean? In my eyes it looks like the same animation in the Ghostbusters game.

Just because the Wii can't produce graphics of a PS3, doesn't mean that every game needs to look cartoony. I don't understand this philosophy. Madden players, if they bought the Wii version, would be purely for the motion controls. This will only drive people away as I seriously doubt the casual market can be sucked into the Madden world.

The one genre I think doesn't benefit from Wiimote controls are the football games. Give me classic control anyday, or at least only incorporate the IR for the pre play draw ups.

I really like the motion controls for Madden. I thought they added something fresh to the game that last-gen controls just can't do.

...
They just distorted stuff. Randomly.

I don't really care about football (of either sort), but if I did I would be annoyed by this. The PS2 handled realistic graphics just fine. The N64 handled realistic graphics just fine. Why does the Wii need a special art style?
Why not put that effort into making the Wii version look as realistic as possible? Adding special features for the Wii version? Improving gameplay, controls, music? Pack it full of bonus content; anything other than making the graphics look less than real. If I wanted a non-realistic sports games, I'd buy from a company that doesn't have a monopoly on the NFL.

I like the new art style. Hopefully, it's less intensive on the system and allows for more of the CPU going to the gameplay, control, physics, etc.

The Wii was handling Madden just fine before...as was the Gamecube.
No. Here they are simply changing the art style to appeal more to the typical Wii audience...
Personally, I thought the motion controls were better in '07 than '08. I skipped '09 when they nerfed the controls starting with '08.
