The evolution of MotionPlus's shape

It's basically the same throughout, except the bottom corners went from curving inward to curving outward! From the look of the final product, that "lip" is designed to help secure the new jacket in place. Alternate theory: the MotionPlus flares out to reduce the aerodynamic quality of the Wiimote, should it slip out of players' hands.

The curing outwards of the "lip" might also provide better aerodynamics for at times when slashing through the air is life or death.

The first one looks a lot like the wireless receiver for my Nyko Nunchuk shell. All that's missing is the big blue LED.

Personally, I still think I'm gonna hold out for Wiimotes with built in motion+. I can live without Sports Resort for awhile, and none of the other M+ titles have caught my eye.

Does anyone know if motion+ will come with a replacement Jacket? I've gotten so used to it that the Wiimote feels tiny if I don't have it on.
