Ten minutes of poorly played Monster Hunter 3

It's a bit lacking in visual quality due to the off-screen recording. It's also a bit lacking in player proficiency -- the title of the video features the explanation "Yes, I'm Sucks :P" and laucc001 offers a similar sentiment in the video description in English, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and Portuguese. Despite the slight awkwardness, the video is worth watching if only for the giant sword. Seriously, it's like he's swinging an airplane wing around.

1- Weird, can anyone think of other games that display your battery life on the loading screens?
2- That inventory screen looks PAINFULLY slow. Speed that thing up before you release it!
3- Too many loading screens! Sure, they're short, but they break up the action way too much. Sometimes a long loading screen is better than a bunch of short ones. If anything, go with the MGS2/3 "Don't actually tell them you're loading" technique to segue between areas.
4- Did that enemy just knock him across a zone line? Big no.
5- That combat looks VERY tedious. Hopefully that's just because this guy sucks, and/or because that "Bigass sword" class is meant to be used in groups.
Looks pretty good visually, but hard to rate on youtube videos.

maybe you have never played a Monster Hunter game before but:
1. it did not show battery life
2. agree with u there
3. as short as those load screens are compared to the playstation load screens, im happy
4. Monsters have always been able to knock players across zones and some people use that as a strategy.
5. The Great Swords are meant to be that slow. you trade speed for power. also the player is not all that great.

1- Look in the upper right corner.
3/4- That old games had problems is not an excuse for new games to have problems
5- I wasn't talking about the speed of the sword nearly as much as excessive enemy health, having to constantly run off and use potions,
Bebop, those stretches could be removed. There's no reason you can't have small, loosely connected areas that fade in and out. Again, MGS2/3 handled this well.

New combos for the Greatsword,Nice!,hope they put them in the next game for the PSP.
Loading times from area to area seem to have lowered down a lot, which is nice, the only thing thats bothering me is the waiting time from item to item when you take them from the supply box, that was a realllllly bothersome in the other games,I hope they take it out in the retail game but,I dont have a lot of hopes.
Also,is that a new bar below the Stamina bar?,Also, seems like the time you spent getting up after an attack has been lowered,or is that an ability of the Armor?.
The Guy playing is not that bad for a begginer, could use a little practice...
Oh and the Greatswords have always been that size, since the first game, which is why they are so awesome!.

This year is looking good for the wii. Mad world, Conduit, MH3, and whatever game the big N is announcing at E3 will make the wii worth owning

The following song popped up in my head while watching and now I can't get rid of it.
Brave Sir Robin ran away.
Bravely ran away, away!
When danger reared its ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled.
Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about
And gallantly he chickened out.
Bravely taking to his feet
He beat a very brave retreat,
Bravest of the brave, Sir Robin!
So I figure I'll infect all of you.

-Loading times are amazing from just the looks of the demo. Compare this to the days of PS2 Monster Hunter and you'll see why people rejoice about it.
-The inventory does look a bit slow, but about the same speed as the PS2/PSP Monster Hunter games, so I wouldn't be surprised if they kept it as is, though an increase would be welcomed.
-As stated, all MH games have had zone lines that you can get knocked across. It can be used to the player's advantage or against it. If you look at the map, if there were no loading times, there would be some tedious long stretches of running/walking distance which would make egg/coal missions that much more annoying.
-Combat wise, I'm loving what I'm seeing. Again, this is only the Great Sword, which is pretty slow but if you want faster attacks, you'll be using the Sword and Shield or Dual Swords (Dual Swords not recommended...).
-I'm not sure if I see the bar Cloud_ST is talking about unless he just means the Weapon Strength, which is glowing/located right under the stamina bar. All that does is just inform you when your weapon is at it's strongest/sharpest and when it is dull (attacks may bounce off, less damage output as well).
Cloud_ST @ Apr 21st 2009 3:15PM
Ohh sorry,Is just that is so weird looking it like that with all that firefly-glowing xD.
In other games the Monsters always go to fountains, lakes and such to drink water,I believe it healed them for what I Know.
Sorry for the messup people.

2. It seems as though he's just going fairly slow through the box.
3. They're far shorter than previous loading screens and I have to disagree they take you out of the action. To short to do that, for me at least.
4. Why is that a big no? Kind of expect it to happen now and then. Usually you aren't even close enough for that to happen. It can also save your ass from imminent death, your friends can hit you out of the way.
5. That would probably just be the Great Sword. IIRC, its either the slowest or second slowest weapon class in the game.
@Cloud_ST
The only new bar I see is the oxygen bar, the one on the left side of the screen.
It looks like the Velociraptor, I think, was definitely getting tired there near the end. He started to breathe heavier at times and he started drooling. I think it'll be interesting just to see how the monsters, other than sleeping, restore their stamina, we've already been told that the Rathian will kill other monsters and eat them.
