This Week on the Nintendo Channel: Every Week on the Nintendo Channel
Last week, we were surprised to see that the new demo offerings for the Nintendo Channel were exactly the same as those the previous week -- most of which were repeats to start with. This week, it's two of the same demos, plus one that is a rerun from previous weeks. And this is how we've managed to feel surprised and bored at the same time.At least there are videos about Cursed Mountain and Night Game to watch. Now, see, these Brawl tutorials are great. As often as everyone likes to say that this game is just super accessable, I have a hard time getting even long time gamers to get the hang of it; it's just that different. The tut that comes with the game isn't good enough either, apparently. Yet, I can pull up the Ninty channel, show 'em these videos, and immediately see a difference in the way they play. It's kinda cool.
...a shame that that's the only thing I've used the Ninty channel for in the last few weeks, but meh.

I don't understand the argument that Brawl is accessible either. Just because it's a bit slower than Melee, that doesn't mean it's something just anyone can jump into and start playing like an old pro. A lot of people forget what it was like to play their first Smash Bros. game for the first time. I know I was incredibly awkward at the first one back in '99.

Only thing I've used the channel for is downloading the Rhythm Heaven demo. I just haven't been paying close attention, although I might check out one of the tutorials since you bring it up, would also give me a reason to toss Brawl in which I haven't done for awhile.

I've never encountered anyone who thought SSB was awkward or initially hard to play, including myself.
So what you two are saying is really weird to me.

add me to the weirdness them, as used as i was for fighting games back in 99,(including kof 99, after 98, 97, 96, 95 and 94), along with SF , MK etc etc, a game like SSB was very very awkward to me .I did get good as tournament gets, into quarter finals and SSBM and brawl but.. it felt weird to play at first.

Is it too mainstream to be excited for Cursed Mountain?
Also, the Trackmania demo is surprisingly robust.
Hardy @ Apr 21st 2009 12:25AM
LOL They post a video about cursed mountain but refuse to publish Fatal Frame over in NA.
...stupid confusing Nintendo.
EnigmaDPX @ Apr 21st 2009 4:49AM
I dont get it, why do we get DS demoes but no Wii demoes
intro94 @ Apr 21st 2009 11:36AM
cursed mountain HAS potential, and it might be good. On the other hand, i did play Fatal Frame 4(IJN) and by all means its a brutal experience....Should, SHOULD be released in US, SOMEHOW, nintendo wake up!
