New Pokemon anime ending is adorable
The Pokémon anime has a new closing theme in Japan, let us show you them it. Kotaku notes the tune is called "Get Fired Up Notch-Eared Pichu" and is sung by Shoko Nakagawa -- she's also the voice of the "Notch-Eared Pichu." We don't know what the lyrics mean, but just watching the video causes us to write another check to The Pokémon Company, which is secretly bio-engineering the real thing ... oh wait, we weren't supposed to mention that. Hey, watch the video after the break.

Also, the other Pichu in the anime ending is a Shiny Pichu, interesting since they recently gave out some shiny PIchus for an event.

And THAT my friend is why J-Pop is superior to American Po[o]p and also why you all should listen to that kind of shit more.
aj @ Apr 17th 2009 11:06PM
There is good music out there. You shouldn't have to listen to annoying pop music from any culture if you don't have to.
Josh @ Apr 18th 2009 9:23AM
That's not even Jpop, though, it's like... a kid's song >.>
Anyway Jrock is where it's at.
bongoes @ Apr 17th 2009 10:34PM
Wow if they keep that in the American version I might start suffering through the show again just to see that every week.

本当だよ!!とてもかわいくて、人気で、大好き!
Very cool, if only American TV had fun endings like that. That put me in a good mood.
esposch @ Apr 18th 2009 4:08AM
我不会说日语!我是大鼻子。。。
But then again, the same could be said about the majority of people here. ;)
And yes, I understand my grammar wasn't perfect. I don't speak Japanese as a first language. ;) Feel free to correct my writing.

Now, let's see if anyone notices...
Josh @ Apr 18th 2009 9:21AM
it's pretty obvious. I think anyone who really cares about Japanese would notice right away that that's ----
TX2 @ Apr 18th 2009 4:08PM
Kanji Yomenai. And I'm too lazy to google.
Anyway, I think anyone actively interested in the pokemon cartoon enough to want to see the ending themes on a regular basis is already watching online.
Heck, the story's easy enough to follow that you don't usually need subtitles, either.
Josh @ Apr 18th 2009 4:18PM
A few of those kanji apparently aren't even in the Japanese language.
esposch @ Apr 18th 2009 8:55PM
Wow, a few!? Meaning some of them ARE? 这是很OSSUM!
Wow, google says so too. :D And it says something about a child.
And if anyone can tell me what i actually said, +1 cookies. :)

Here, a 5 minute translation. So now all of you know what it says. :P
Have you heard that rumor?
Want to know more about that Pokemon!
It`s name is Spiky Eared Pichu
Ha! Ha! With an explosive personality
It`s style is definitely kung fu!
Ho! Ho! Charmed by itself,
enthralled with the mirror.
Trying to look cool - Pichu
Just that type... Ha!
Wanting to be stronger - Spiky Eared Pichu
Ha! Ha! Running around training
But there is one problem you mustn`t forget
Ho! Ho! No sense of direction...
Before you realize it, where am I?
Lost, and looking around
And then, bit by bit
Tears come pouring out
For you see, that pokemon
is a little girl!
Spiky Eared Pichu
Spiky is great, Spiky is cute!
soren121 @ Apr 19th 2009 8:20AM
I never realized how many people know Japanese. Where I live, it's English or Spanish. I always wanted to learn French or Japanese, though.
MRLN @ Apr 19th 2009 5:34PM
This singer sung the opening theme for Gurren Lagann.
In other news this song is too awesome for such a failure of an anime.
