VC in Brief: Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure (Sega Genesis)
We say: Platforming fans will enjoy it!
This week, the Virtual Console has one title on offer: Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure. Perhaps it's nostalgia, or perhaps it's a void of proper platforming in my life, but I found myself hypnotized by this title. If you enjoy 2D platforming, then I'd suggest you hop on this train with me and ride it until the rails come off.

A decent offering this week, though I was hoping for Majora's Mask since it's recently been added to the VC in Japan and the PAL regions.

You can actually play the original Pitfall with a push button code, so you don't have to jump through a lot of hoops to get to it if you don't want to. :P But yeah, that alone probably isn't worth $8.

Man, seeing this game brought me back; I used to play it as a kid at my uncle's house all the time, but I totally forgot it existed until this video.
I wonder why, though, when it comes to multiplatform releases on the Virtual Console it's usually the Genesis version that gets put up. I mean, the only major differences are mostly in the sound department, but in the case of Earthworm Jim, the inferior sound of the Genesis version really hurt the experience for me, because I had only ever played it on my SNES.

I've got that game on CD for my PC. Not that I play it.
