Another 3D Link's Awakening project pops up

The resulting game, Ballad of the Wind Fish, is impressive, in that the game runs properly and everything -- and that it hasn't been cease-and-desisted out of existence yet. For a fanmade 3D game by one guy, it looks pretty good, too -- if not as iconic as the Game Boy game, at the very least, better than the CD-I Zeldas.

Now there's an idea. A fan remake of the CDi zelda...
They could be on the DSi, too.

Drahken @ Apr 10th 2009 4:46PM
Wow. One guy made this? But he DIDN'T bitch that he didn't get approved as an official developer and spend a hundred days shoving those two facts down the internet's throat? I think the second part is much more impressive.

Those graphics look sexy.

The graphics look amazing.I wonder how long till Nintendo shuts down the project.

Went ahead and gave this a try. Really impressive, I seriously would love to play through the entire game again this way. Here's hoping that it's able to get finished.
I do also like the small tweaks that will implemented in this version as well. Smart, logical choices that seem shall bode well with the new perspective.

"The project has been leaked and has appeared on other websites. I'm closing downloads until further notice."

SoulBlade @ Apr 11th 2009 12:14AM

RupeeClock @ Apr 11th 2009 1:11AM
For having being made by just one person, and in 3d, not bad actually.
A few things look a bit off but it's otherwise cool.

Hello there.
I am the author of this project. I appreciate all the comments, support, and am even surprised and flattered by the article. I'm sorry I'm closing the downloads for the moment, but please understand, the screenshots that you guys are seeing the ONLY the result of 3 weeks of work. The demo up for download is a result of two weeks of work. I'm very embarrassed by the leak, since the game was supposed to be a private beta for a small community. I will create a blogspot page for this project soon, but for the time being, please be patient.
I have a lot of work to do before I would consider the project 'presentable' and it will be weeks before I can offer any official press releases.
Thanks every.

You're doing a good job, man. I'll keep an eye out for that blogspot page.

Hey everyone.
http://balladofthewindfish.blogspot.com/
I've opened a blogspot for the project, seeing as how the project was leaked and got out of hand.
Feel free to find more game information and updates here.

arherinthedark- I'd hardly call the GMC a small community! It has been one of the bigger forums in a while.
Eric E- The language that this is programmed in, GML, is not cross platform and it only works for Windows. The runner is being re-written, so Macs and possibly Linux machines my be able to run it, but nowhere in the foreseeable future will it be able to run on any other machines.
Anyone else: I found the download link on Google's cached version of the page. It quite possibly is not the current version, but here it is:
