Target: Buy 2 Wii games, get 1 free
Beginning this Sunday, Target is having a great promotion on Nintendo Wii titles. Customers who buy two Wii titles (priced at $49.99 or more) can pick up a third title (priced at equal or lesser value, at a max of $49.99) for free. The catch? The offer is only available in stores! That means you online shoppers must first acquire pants, get into your car, drive to the store ... man, this sounds like a lot of work! But with over 80 games available in the offer, it might be worth the effort.
Also, if you plan on picking up Animal Crossing ... be prepared to answer a few questions.

"Customers who buy two Wii titles (priced at $49.99 or more) can pick up a third title (of equal or lesser value) for free."
I looked at the Target ad, that is incorrect. You can buy any two games, EVEN games which cost 49.99, and get a game free that has to be of equal or lesser value.

Yes, you are correct. That has been fixed in the post. Thanks for the heads up.

Er, not quite fixed -- the games you pay for don't have to be $49.99. You can buy two $19.99 games and get a $19.99 game free. The free game just can't cost more than either the paid games or $49.99.

Hmm...I still need House of the Dead Overkill and Sonic & the Black Knight.
...but I have no idea what other game I'd choose for a third one...

Aww man, I don't think there are any Target stores in Canada.
Glugalump @ Mar 28th 2009 3:13PM
Also, in todays (Saturday) in-mail (snail mail) advertisement (for MA, not sure if it is offered everywhere), there is a coupon for a $10 gift card if you buy $100 or more in merchandise (in store only).
I expect to see more aggressive marketing from Target within the coming months. A recent article stated that they had falling sales... the article stated that they were cutting 600 jobs at their main headquarters.
If I had the cash then I would take them up on this offer.

Title is a little misleading, since BOGO means buy ONE get one. This is a BTGO. Even so, good deal.

I meant (B)uy (O)ne-game-and-another-one (G)et (O)ne.
NM, I fixed my error. :)

That's still 100 bucks in one trip. I'll pass.
Mics @ Mar 28th 2009 10:17PM
HOTD: Overkill and MadWorld for me please. But what third game would I want?
zzyzx @ Mar 29th 2009 1:37AM
The selection at my local Target is garbage. That's the biggest problem with this promotion. After a day or two, what selection they do have will be completely picked over.
$100 for 3 full-price releases isn't a bad deal, but $100 is $100. Do I want to do that to my credit card? Eh, probably not.
Robert27 @ Mar 29th 2009 2:31AM
I´ll be visiting USA next Friday, can someone tell me when does the promotion will be over?
nnarum @ Mar 29th 2009 9:29AM
Saturday will be the final day for the sale. It's a weekly ad good for Sun-Sat of that week. Good luck!

Paying full retail and tax on two games just to get one (potentially less valuable) game free? No thanks, I think I'll pass.
NYKnicker @ Mar 29th 2009 10:50AM
If only I had an Nintendo Wii... the possibilities...
Daryl @ Mar 30th 2009 1:19AM
How long is this going to last?
When punch out comes out, I may take advantage of this to also pick up brawl and sonic and the black knight.
