Onechanbara video features Bikini Zombie Slaying for once
Following the recent Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers trailers, we feel obligated to warn you that the one after the post break contains real gameplay footage. If you came in hoping for more oatmeal-faced zombie analogues mugging in pseudo-sitcom vignettes, you will be disappointed. However, those of you who wanted to see bikini-clad ladies cleanly slicing through hundreds and hundreds of zombies will be well-served by this surprisingly excellent-looking trailer. And if you want more footage, IGN has a few new videos as well.
We don't know which hypothetical group of Onechanbara fans would be considered weirder. We won't make any judgments, in any case. This is a safe place to like Onechanbara.
[Thanks, yanya!]

Eh, those environments aren't the best thing in the world, but the combat looks like what No More Heroes should have been (strictly in terms of combat)
Should be satisfying, if a bit low-quality

If they made the enemies more competent like in DMC then this game would own, but while I was never bothered before, nothing changes after watching this.
Oh well, bring on the good titles 09!
BTW Khan, you noticed how the new change of website is attracting (more) Wii hating scum? It's true! look at the post below! One of many....

That is the big issue. Obviously if you don't give a shit about the Wii, you weren't going to go out of your way to go to Nintendowiifanboy.com. However, now that it's all run together, you might just do a quick drive-by trolling, as it were, since it isn't that far out of your way
But everyone's feathers are a bit ruffled right now. See where it goes when it all cools down

I too iz not happy regarding the merger. I had to double-check on which platform this game was for, the Wii version, or the 360 version.

I like the new Joystiq, but I don't like the fanboy sites, really.
I'm still giving it a few days before I pass my judgement, but at the moment, it feels like they're all getting the shaft. The increase in trolls sucks, too, but a lot of them are also people who own a DS and don't like the Wii (or vice versa).

I was an on and off commentor at DSFanboy using different names over time, and it really surprised me how many former DSF readers couldn't keep from ragging on the Wii today. DSF readers had (for the most part) a respectable commitment to civility--I was embarrassed enough whenever I would lose my temper at someone that I would stay away for weeks or months at a time afterward. I saw an unexpectedly-dark side of the reader base today.
I mean, it's fine if one doesn't like the changes. There are valid criticisms that can be made about the Fanboy mergers and valid fears that can be expressed about DS coverage potentially getting the shaft. But to stick it to Wii fans for no other reason than spite? Come on; I know this is the internet, but...
I'm not going to pass judgment on the change yet, either. It's new and thus naturally unnerving, and I'd like to pass my fears off as the result of a niche DS gamer's inferiority complex. The DS coverage just looks drowned out right now because, in reality, DSF might have had 4-5 articles an average weekday and NWF had two to three times that. We'll see how everything turns out.

Same thing with Wii fanboy. As unless you were a Wii fan, there's no reason that you should have been there.
AND THE COMMENT SYSTEM IS STILL SCREWED UP.

Looks just awful even for a Wii game......
chenry @ Jan 27th 2009 4:28PM
I now understand why they've been so slow to show us any of the gameplay. That was pretty boring.
Orion @ Jan 27th 2009 4:22PM
The sad thing is that in the beginning of the video when it was grainier than the latter half, it actually looked like a psone game.
I'm not thrilled with the fact that the zombies, when they die, seem to be tied to the same animation... meaning, everyone is facing the same direction, and falling down at the same time. The trick takes up less memory and is often used for crowds in football games. But common, I know the Wii can handle a handful of enemies on screen with different animations. This is just lazy.
Good news is, the CG cutscenes are still hot LOL. I think that was the high point of the game right there.
LOL@Wii @ Jan 27th 2009 5:42PM
Maybe I haven't been paying attention, but when the did this become overall Nintendo? Keep the Wii garbage out of my DS coverage. Unsubscribing.
Mr Khan @ Jan 27th 2009 5:45PM
well, we certainly won't miss you with that name
bye
samfish @ Jan 27th 2009 8:27PM
Good riddance.

I agree 1000%! This new site blows! I spent the last few minutes reading many posts forgetting that they were mostly for the Wii and thinking to myself this game looks awesome only to come to the realization that it was for the Wii NOT THE DS!
samfish @ Jan 27th 2009 8:26PM
heh- I've been tellin' y'alls for months that this series is notorious for being bad.
If you take it for what it is - a dumb hack 'n' slash game with tons of TnA- and don't expect anything else from it, you'll enjoy it. Otherwise you're going to be disappointed. This is NOT A series that is even INTENDED to be on par with Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden
Jacksons @ Jan 27th 2009 8:40PM
Looks to me like those zombies were all minding their own business. I didn't see any of them even attempt to attack. Poor things.
