EA officially announces Spore Hero

Spore's arrival on the Wii has been stretched out over such a protracted period of time it would make evolution itself blush. Will Wright first confirmed the project way, way back in October 2007; optimistically, we placed the game in a list of titles to look out for in 2008.Nevertheless, let's say it again: Spore is coming to Wii. Yay! This time, to make things feel extra official and important, EA made the announcement, revealing that Spore Hero, a game built from the ground up for the Wii, would focus on "creativity and evolution." And that's really all we know for now, aside from the fact that the game will release this fall.
Considering it's taken EA the best part of fifteen months to announce the thing, and given the first game's reputation, we wouldn't be amazed to see some slippage. One to watch out for in our "Games for 2010" list, perhaps.

I wonder if this is poking fun at Activision. First, they steal the developers of the Guitar Hero franchise. Now, they steal part of the name of the Guitar Hero franchise (and possibly making fun of future Activision titles like the already-confirmed DJ Hero). Good for them, I'm currently happier with EA than I am with Activision. lol
Though, if you don't think about the competition between publishers and just take Spore Hero as itself... ew. Like I said, I personally think it's trying to make fun of the Activision games, but at the same time, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and they would end up making fun of themselves too.
Oh well. I look forward to seeing how the mainstream media takes this. "Spore Hero is shameless ripoff of Guitar Hero." Or even BETTER, "Spore Hero is shameless ripoff of Spore."

After being disappointed by the PC version, I expect nothing out of this one.

It'll probably have the same shitty gameplay, but at least it wont install a rootkit.

My only guess is that this will be the exact same game, except it will cut out before the "civilization" stage. which means it will have all the parts of spore that were actually FUN.
