Try out Sega's Wii line-up early
If you're in the New York area between February 6 - 8, we are now officially jealous of you, for something other than the fact that you live in New York.
Sega USA's blog informs us that House of the Dead: Overkill, Sonic and the Black Knight, MadWorld, and The Conduit will all be playable at the 2009 New York Comic-Con, which in our opinion makes the $30 fee for a Friday or Sunday ticket (or even the $40 for a Saturday pass) totally palatable. Alternatively, if you fancy being the jerk who hogs the Wii booths for a full three days, you can pony up $50 for the entire event.

Is this going to be the first time that madworld will be playable by the public?

Why can't anything like this happen in Iowa? The closest anything interesting gets is St. Louis, Chicago, or Wisconsin.
sjames7 @ Jan 14th 2009 12:05AM
Because it's Iowa?
Eternal @ Jan 15th 2009 1:37AM
@ sjames7 good answer lmao yeah uh i don't think anything interesting ever happens in Iowa. Well at least Slipknot comes from Iowa, so Iowa isn't all that horrible.

I wonder how Sonic and the Black Knight is.

wiilover @ Jan 18th 2009 10:29PM
lmao lucky bastard! come to chicago sega! not like I would go anyway it's more than half the price of any of those actual games so I would rather wait. Is the 2nd pic the conduit!? It looks like 360 n ps3 graphics!
Azsro @ Jan 13th 2009 10:25PM
You now... i didnt notice all this (apparently) great games will be published by Sega...
Maybe sega can get on top again, only by the power of the wii.
wutdaheckman @ Jan 13th 2009 10:39PM
now that would ironic.
Melao @ Jan 14th 2009 10:52AM
Who would've thought that Sega would be one of the finest, if not the finest, 3rd party software company for a Nintendo system ?
Eternal @ Jan 15th 2009 1:34AM
ironic how back in the day Mario & Sonic were rivals but now are allies and work together. I remember the 8 & 16bit days those were some good times.

I could go for this. Maybe my club at college will do a trip, but it isn't something i'd be up to myself
RatMasterD21 @ Jan 13th 2009 10:54PM
another reason it pays to live in new york..also i go to comic con and the anime fest every year so i was going anyway
@tomic @ Jan 13th 2009 11:06PM
Damn, I really wish I could go. Sucks being a minor and living a couple hours from NYC. My parents won't let me go there myself and there's no way they're taking me way over there just to play a few games at a convention that I otherwise wouldn't care about.
Trust me, being so close and yet so far away is far more torturous than being on the other side of the country...

You could also do what most of us did at that age ... Lie about it ... But, it's probably not a good idea because you might get grounded.
Eternal @ Jan 15th 2009 1:30AM
you don't know if you don't try, isnt it at least worth asking? you totally gave up before even knowing if they would take you out to attend you could tell them it could be like a family day out or something idk
BDR @ Jan 13th 2009 11:43PM
i want it

In all honesty the Conduit & Madworld are probably 2/3 of the Wii games on my radar for 2009. I also have a passing interest in Fragile. I'm sure this will change but I haven't heard of very much releasing.
Pasha @ Jan 14th 2009 1:29AM
I just bought my ticket for Saturday earlier today! I didn't even know Nintendo would be there. Fan. Tastic.
Eternal @ Jan 15th 2009 1:27AM
Sweet perhaps i might go now that i have a reason to attend. I'm not into comics i see it as a waste of $$ but games are a different kind of waste of money ;-)
