DS Daily: Uno or U-nooooo?
Gameloft has acquired the rights to the Uno card game for, well, pretty much everything, but most importantly DSiWare. Chances are, the DS version will be similar to the iPhone release, which is apparently pretty good, but lacks the theme decks and online infrastructure (i.e. Xbox Live friends lists and such) of the Xbox 360 game.Uno decks themselves are a classic, and the Xbox version has done very well, but will the success transfer to other platforms? Will people be as interested in playing online on the DSi as they are on Xbox Live, or does the online service make the game? Could it be a killer app for DSiWare?

PS3 version will probably be most similar to the 360 version, which is good. PS3 download games frequently don't sell very well though, simply because the system is competing with the 360. Anybody who has both systems and wants this game already has the 360 version.
The DS version intrigues me. It will no doubt have decent multiplayer (I hope single cartridge), which is a good thing. Additionally, since the DS targets an entirely different and more casual audience than the iPhone or 360, it'll sell to a lot of people who simply don't have it for another system or *shudders* the real thing.

Well, it's DSiWare, so it would be no-cartridge multiplayer.

Oh snap, DSi, I missed that before.
Either way, I'm mainly hoping for download play here, so that both players don't have to pay for the game for local multiplayer. This is (probably) just as possible for DSiWare as it is for cartridge games.

probably even more possible considering the games are meant to be downloaded anyway, but I think developers will be lazier and not do it anyway.

Uno is good, sure, but I am still holding out for the release or Catan. Or maybe a game that will be HELPED by the use of a processor, like Arkham Horror.
