Wii Warm Up: How long?
It's a simple question, but also a vital one when it comes to establishing those all-important fanboy credentials: in an average day, how long do you spend playing on your Wii?Does your time playing on Nintendo's system vary greatly from the time you dedicate to other gaming platforms? And in your memory, what's the longest period you've not played the console for?

I've barely had ANY time for games in the last month or so :(
But when I do play, usually about an hour or so, regardless of platform.

The DS is soaking up all my gaming time.
It's gotten to 30 minutes a week on my Wii. That's mainly due to the lack of time I have avaliable to be in front of a television, though.

I used to play Wii all the time, but most of that was because the wii was the only next gen system I had and my PC was crap. Then I got a 360 in May, and I've hardly played the wii since, mostly due to catching up on all the 360 games I missed.
So outside of a random SBB or Wii Fit Body Test its been about 4-5 months since I've had an 1 hour+ gaming session on the wii.

I just got the wii in Nov 08 and the longest Ive played is about 6 hours with Metroid. Other than that its been an hour here or there with Tiger 09. But mostly its been work. The console of life takes up most of my time and my controller is showing it wear!

I, too, purchased the Wii in November of '08. I also purchased a DS 'round that time.
I'm averaging an hour per day on the DS (1/2 hour on the bus each way to/from work), and anywhere from 1-3 hours per day on the Wii.
And this week, it's been about 3-4 hours per day.
But let me 'splain . . .
I just bought two mucho excellantay games for the Wii: WSC Real 08 (World Snooker Championship) arrived in the mail on tuesday, and then Boom Blox arrived yesterday.
It's safe to say that those 3-4 hours per day could balloon into 5-6 in the VERY near future.
And if you don't have it yet, do yourself a favor and get Boom Blox. Everybody goes on about World of Goo, and from what I've played of it (just the downloadable-for-PC first level) I've definitely enjoyed it, but I'm diggin' on Boom Blox WAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY more than I enjoyed the first level of WoG.
So I'll say it . . . Boom Blox is my favorite game of 2008, and as much praise as it's been given, I still think it's underrated.

Have to agree on Boom Blox. Just picked it up for my son for Xmas and we play it all the time. There two days during the holiday break where we pretty much did nothing but play that game. And there aren't many games that a 30-year-old and a 7-year-old can equally enjoy.
jan_halmes @ Jan 8th 2009 8:53AM
I've been pretty bbusy with Tatsunoko Vs Capcom, Brawl online, and Animal Crossing: City Folk. Before that there was a little bit of a gaming drought between de Blob and Animal Crossing, bu other than that I've played the Wii at least three times a week.
I haven't touched my PS3 since Little Big Planet came out, and I haven't touched my 360 since I beat Castle Crashers.
techfreak713 @ Jan 8th 2009 11:02AM
I tried playing Tatsunoko vs Capcom, but i couldnt get over the Japanese language. Is there any way to change the language to English?
il_duce620 @ Jan 8th 2009 9:04AM
I've been turning it on about once a week since I got Resistance 2 for my PS3... Now, once I see Madworld and The Conduit, I'm sure the tables will be turned!
Michael @ Jan 8th 2009 9:04AM
During a 1 week period, I play anywhere from 10-20 hours. During this most recent period, most of that is on my PS3(Fallout 3, Bioschock) and I spend a couple of hours a week on my Wii(Shaun White, Okami).
monster215 @ Jan 8th 2009 9:17AM
i'm putting in quite a few hours gaming a week, probably at least 20+, but i haven't turned my wii on for a couple of weeks. i was considering it for the new ToS, but in all honesty, the wii remote was not the most appealing thing to me anymore. most of the time now, i get home late and just play r2 or an occasional halo... if anything, i play like VC stuff more so than the discs.
monster215 @ Jan 8th 2009 9:22AM
correction, the wii doesnt get a lot of playtime recently, but the DS soaks it up. Longest i've been without playing the Wii... three weeks.
TracerBullet @ Jan 8th 2009 9:30AM
Between 20/30 min. of Wii Sports everyday.
When I have time to spare - a rare commodity, these days - you may add another hour of deBlob or Zack and Wiki or Mario Kart; I guess it happens about once every week.

I've been a month without playing sometimes, mostly because of studies and lack of new games. I played more DS or computer in those periods.
And most of the stuff I play on my wii these days are gcn games, I have lots of them, and they give the wii so much playtime than the wii games (with the Q1 releases, I'm sure I'll be playing 20+ hours a days of wii though, specially when rune factory frontier, house of the dead and madworld come out).
I just don't want to buy another console, ps3 is expensive (it cost the double in my country), and I don't like it, and I'm only interested in 3 xbox games (though these games maybe are enough to buy the consoles), that's why I really need the wii to get some good games these days.
canaroo @ Jan 8th 2009 10:31AM
Animal Crossing has swallowed my life.
kavorka @ Jan 8th 2009 10:47AM
Between the LSAT and finals, I haven't played much period. However, when I do, it's always ps3. Wii has been reduced to a living-room party box, which is really all it was in the first place.
I still play a random bout of SSBB, MarioKart, or the occasional Mario Party, but only with friends, and only begrudgingly. The best games for the Wii are the downloadable ones that came out over a decade ago, Earthworm Jim and Simon's Quest to name a few. Sad.
Lianne @ Jan 8th 2009 11:04AM
I usually put in a half hour to an hour a day on my Wii (Animal Crossing FTW) - sometimes longer on weekends - and 5-6 hours on my PC (WoW owns my soul). I use my PS2 about once every 6 months. :P
Longest I've gone without using the Wii at all would probably be around a week...maybe 2. That was during the lull a few months back when no new games came out that interested me.
aceofclubs23 @ Jan 8th 2009 11:12AM
Usually, I'll play my Wii about 15 hours a week. That was, until I downloaded Tetris Party and introduced my wife to it. Now, it's upwards of 20 hours a week, and my wife, a couple friends, and I had two 6 hour sessions with that game. She's completely addicted to it now, and will be playing Tetris when I want to be playing Kart or Zelda!
Maxguy2099 @ Jan 8th 2009 11:36AM
At least 3 hours on daily(on weekdays), playing CoD!! multiplayer is amazing. Sometimes Animal crossing. Finally on Weekends at least 5 to 6 hours playing my new Rock band 2 with my friends. =)
tmntman @ Jan 8th 2009 11:39AM
My gaming time varies wildly depending upon the rest of my schedule. I try to spend at least 30 minutes a day to keep up my Animal Crossing character. Beyond that, I've spent a lot of time in the last week playing De Blob which I received for Christmas. But now that I've completed that game, I may scale back my play time.
Linkdude @ Jan 8th 2009 11:51AM
I don't play it as much as I used to. After Brawl and the initial 60 hours, it did start to wind down. But I did play it every weekend with some friends but now not as much. For the last few weeks though, I did play it for a week straight. The only reason was that i got Tatsunoko vs. Capcom for Christmas. Played that every day. Now i just play it every once in a while.
So yeah about 5-10 hours on a good week.
CamranChaos @ Jan 8th 2009 12:12PM
I just got a PS3 for Christmas, so naturally I'm spending most of my game time on that, which isn't much in the first place. When family came in, I played Wii roughly 3-4 hours a day, but now what little time I spend with my white console is to play GC/VC games. That's the way it's gonna be until I get Pikmin and Sin & Punishment 2, I guess.
Dante G @ Jan 8th 2009 12:14PM
I'm currently playing wii games about 3 hours a week. I play Madden 09 (taking the Dolphins to the super bowl) and Wii fit.
I've been playing with my DS the most because I got the first Ace attorney game for Christmas and it's very intriguing. Once you're at court you just can't stop playing to see what happens.
I gave my wife a DS bundle with brain age and I also got her Personal Trainer: Cooking. We've been cooking those international dishes during the weekends. We've made sushi rolls, chinese rice, german meat rolls, british apple crumble and some more. I never knew I could cook that well ;)
The longest I've been without playing the wii must be like 4 months last summer when I went back to playing WoW. I quit WoW when my daughter was born on October 20th, so I'm back to the Wii and DS.
Boarderwoot @ Jan 8th 2009 12:32PM
About an hour of Wii Fit every morning and then after work about 1-2 hours playing my library, more so World of Goo and Lost Winds after I downloaded them a couple days ago based on all the press those two titles have gotten on this website lately and have found them to be better than half the $50 retail titles i have sitting in my cabinet by far!
SoshiKitai @ Jan 8th 2009 4:15PM
2-6 hours on my Wii daily.
.....what can I say? I'm addicted to DBZBT3 (despite having had it since day 1). :P
Chenchi @ Jan 9th 2009 9:23AM
Recently I purchased animal crossing for the wife so the wii has been in use alot. Previous to that it had sat there since I beat smash brothers months back. I mostly play my ps2 and 360 or psp. There is a huge lack of decent games on the wii. Almost all 3rd party titles are crap and the Nintendo ones get old since they are just repeats of games I have played before. Mostly the Wii has been a disappointment.
sara @ Jan 10th 2009 9:59AM
I play my Wii all day!!! if that answers your question:))
bigbagofthings @ Jan 10th 2009 7:25PM
I usually put in a 2-4 hours whenever I do decide to play. This will probably increase a whole lot later this year.
