Rumor: Lego ... Rock Band?

Lots of people have been speculating that the next entry in the Lego games franchise, to follow up Batman and Indiana Jones, would be something to tie in with the release of the next Harry Potter film. However, gaming site videogaming247 claims a source let slip to them that, instead, the next Lego game by developer Travellers Tales would be Lego Rock Band. Let the chorus of "what???" begin.

While this one is a tough rumor to swallow, for reasons of rights, viability, and silliness -- and we're always mistrustful of these anonymous sources, no matter who they're talking to -- Lego Rock Band would be both hilarious and completely awesome, so we're going to cross a few fingers.

And Activision is selling out?

I really doubt this is going to happen, there wouldn't really be any difference from the ordinary RB, it's not like there is Lego music or anything, it would just be a skin.

Maybe they are going to release Lego characters you can play as, if they can do that.

Please make all the rock band guitar hero stuff stop! Well not stop but slow down... seriously...

Lego really is unique and I hope they do the harry potter series next. These games are very witty and fun.

YEA!!! That's awesome and all....but I'm all for lego Lord of the Rings, if that does not happen, me and my fellow fanboys will get all of our lego medieval cannons and lego orcs and raid the Travelers Tales headquarters like the battle at helms deep!! I MEAN imagine a lego sauron or Balrog!! HOW AWESOME?!

The only good part I would see to this is A LOT of customizing your band members. Since the Lego characters are less complex, they will have more time to make more clothing, accessories, heads, etc.

Besides the customizing, I really think a Lego Rock Band would be completely stupid and pointless.

ok... really? there are enough music games out there with guitar hero and rockband alone. then you throw in wii music, a few ddr games, singstar, and a few other random games and you have a flood of rythem games that only one of i will play. btw, have you guys heard of a new catholic rock guitar hero/rock band game? its like praise something, i just read about it today

I think it was a miss print, future Rock Band title will ship controllers in the form of Lego pieces in an attempt to decrease the overall box size of the complete bundle. the will only ship with enough bricks to produce 1 instrument, but both drums and guitars can be produced with the same pieces give or take a few pieces.
