MiWi2, for when you want something that vaguely looks like a Wii
London shoppers, beware. The above picture was taken by flickr user abulkasam while out on the town and shows the MiWi2, the latest in the long line of ripoff consoles trying to dupe people who are out shopping for a Wii. With it being the conclusion of the busy holiday season, we just hope some misinformed parent didn't pick one of these up for little Billy or Jane. We can't imagine how horrible one of these would've made some little kid's Christmas morning.

Shmil @ Dec 30th 2008 8:43PM
I believe it was the Vii.
rodjoh @ Dec 30th 2008 8:50PM
I'm sure there was a Wu as well... or maybe those were chepo accesories for the Wii... gah i dunno anymore.

There's a Wu. My brother saw one at Best Buy, they have "state of the art 16-bit graphics".

I would think people could see the difference, but there are many stupid shoppers out there. I saw someone buy Kung fu panda for wii today. I felt so bad for that parents kid.......

the only reason i own that game is because it came with my 360

I saw a Wii rip-off in a Toys 'R' Us just the other day. Of course, motion control in games is nothing new (just like touch screen gaming). There have been devices like that for years. Although, this is a clear attempt to screw someone.
SoshiKitai @ Dec 31st 2008 1:21AM
It's not so much to screw them over. But people who don't pay attention much to technology will think "ZOMG! Motion control gaming is the newest thing EVAR! And here's one for like $30! My kid will love me!".
So in other words, it's to screw the child over.

I'm not at all surprised. The Wii is difficult to find, even though it's been some time since it was released. It took us a year to find one!(and it was so worth it,the Wii rocks)I'm surprised this comapny hasn't been hit with a cease and desist by Nintendo,"wi mi" is awfully close to "Wii"
RockMan_Forte @ Dec 31st 2008 1:16PM
Pure garbage. Although that controller would be great for Genesis games... It would probably fall apart after a month of use.

I wonder why I never see any of this stuff in the US...
truecaiora @ Dec 31st 2008 8:09PM
Has anyone noticed that there hasn't been any rip-offs of the Ps3 and 360? I just wanted to point that out.
EXTREME Seph @ Jan 1st 2009 10:13PM
Do either of those systems print money?
