Mirror's Edge meets the Balance Board
The video is well made, but there's a long lull at the beginning giving everyone their due, and after that, the controls-and-gameplay windows are small, so there's really not a lot of meat to it. But the video, and the notion behind it, is interesting enough for a watch. When you're done there, go back and check out our Mike Sylvester's revolutionary ideas for Mirror's Edge 2D.

I really like the concept here. Now, just give us graphics that the Wii can actually run (how 'bout a 3D, cel-shaded version of that style the cutscenes are in? That would be cool), and we're set.
You listening, EA?

But I liked the cutscenes as they are already. :(
...that and the Wii hasn't proved that it can do AMAZING cel-shading yet (compared to some on the 360 and PS3), and anything less than AMAZING will curse this game. :(

Who is the artist for that song in the video? That song is awesome. Anyone know who it is?

A lot of those controls look like they wouldn't really add anything to the game because they're nothing like the actions they perform. Plus, one of the great things about Mirror's Edge is that the controls are so simple. L1 is up, L2 is down. Awesome.

or is this pure concept?
SlothMaster @ Jan 1st 2009 9:49AM
they ran the game on a pc and simply used glovepie and bluetooth to link the controlers to the pc ... it's what i love about my wii ...i can play any game that also came out for the pc :D

I was really convince about this video until I saw the part where he showed that he used the Wiimote to move up the ladder. In the actual game when you get to the latter, it automatically goes up without pressing on any of the buttons cause it triggers a cut scene. So why did he show that part of the video if it's not necessary to do that?
Wiilover @ Jan 3rd 2009 1:19AM
I think he just took sum footage of the game n footage of him moving his feet and just put it together. It looks like it cuz u never see both simultaneously and the scenes in here are not chronologocal in the game
