Might as well Jump for new Dragon Quest IX, FFCC Echoes of Time trailers
We're slowly being converted into full-on Dragon Questism by the Dragon Quest IX hype, and this trailer from this weekend's Jump Festa event is certainly effective in that respect. It just looks like pure fun in a genre that is often dour and pretentious! We are officially in love with Koichi Sugiyama's Dragon Quest theme now. Square Enix and Level-5 may have been planning changes to the gameplay at one point, but any traces of action-RPG are gone now, and this is absolutely canonical Dragon Quest.
After the break, a trailer for another Square Enix RPG that may not inspire as much adoration in so many: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time. Your enjoyment of this trailer may hinge upon whether you think Echoes of Time's cross-platform release is innovative or merely cheap.

Wow, I was expecting a decent effort for DQIX when I had just seen screens. But now after watching that video. Wow, I'm impressed. Hopefully the plot moves faster than the snail's pace that the more recent DQ games have though.

Those are are the gave that I've been waiting for among others , dragonquest looks awesome, this would actually be the first DQ I like so far on ds, does anybody when DQ is coming to north america.

Any word on whether or not DQIX will feature random encounters?
If not, it could very well be the best original RPG (i.e. not a remake) on the DS.
If so, well, then I'll be very sad to pass on what looks like will be an awesome game (but Chrono Trigger made it difficult and later impossible for me to tolerate random encounters in a RPG).

Seems weird to hinge a game on such a silly thing. I know random encounters are annoying but I can tolerate them easily after going crazy for Pokemon back in the day. Playing Final Fantasy VI now, right after playing Chrono Trigger, I random encounters do feel bothersome but in no way a deal breaker for a great game.

So epic, it made me feel weird, like, I must have this game or I will regret it for the rest of my life, I think it's the perfect mix of the video and the awesome DQ theme.
I'm not member of DQism, I've played all of them, I love them, but I'm not really a fanboy.
And the FF video was cool too, but I'm waiting more for crystal bearers, it's trailer convinced me more than all the EoT trailers did.
Oh, and red mage spotted.

both games looks awesome =)
but I just noticed something in the FFCC:echoes of time trailer. The little girl has a cat tail! That probably means she is either the cat in the artwork (and on the DSi), or related to them in some way. =0
