Ubisoft resurrecting Broken Sword on DS and Wii next year
Remember that rumor we ran awhile back about Broken Sword coming to the Wii? Well, the game showed up on Nintendo's massive list of Q1 games and it's all confirmed: the game will be releasing on the DS and Wii in March of next year. So, what else do we know?
Well, based on the title Broken Sword: Shadows of the Templars (Director's Cut), we can say that it's a port of the original game. This is both bad and good, as it's another port coming to the Wii, but a port of a very good game. Considering the original released in 1996, we're wondering what kind of updates we can look forward to.
Any other fans out there looking forward to this?

Yeah, I loved the Broken Sword games... Well not the last one, Dragon something, I dunno... I finished it in a day, A DAY!!!
Anywho, if they give it a few tweaks here and there and freshen it up a tad... And make the price alright, I'm in. I love a good old point and click adventure!!

The voice acting in Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon is really awful, and the rest of the game isn't much better. Adventure games should be 2D or 2.5D.

port or remake I don't care this only shows that DEVS wanna be lazy with the Wii and not produce any new games or franchises! i swear all DEVS just look at the Wii and think "CONSOLE WE CAN BE LAZY WITH AND MAKE LOSTS OF MONEY"! bunch of lazy fluffs!

I already played this on the Gameboy Advance so chances are I am not going to buy this again. It was a good game though. I am looking for original games instead of ports of ones that I have already played on a different system. I was really hoping they were making a brand new Broken Sword game as I love the series.

I've never heard of Broken Sword. Was it just on Gameboy systems?

Nope, PC as well. I've played through a bit Shadow of the Templars, but never finished it. Definitely some good adventure gaming, if a bit slow-moving at times.
Makes me wonder if Lucasarts would ever license the Monkey Island series (or Zak McKracken, Full Throttle, etc.) to Wii.

I am absolutely looking forward to any adventure game released on the Wii, even if it is a port! I have been supporting adventure games on the Wii by even buying ones that I may not like (that Nancy Drew game). But There are already some great adventure games to sit alongside Broken Sword:
Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None, Agatha Christie's Evil Under the Sun, Sam and Max: Season One, and Harvery Birdman: Attorney at Law.
How awesome would it be if the Gabriel Knight games got re-released on the Wii?

This new version will start off before the original BS1 and you'll start with Nico instead of George.
I’m sure if this one does well they will they will bring out a new broken sword game for the Wii.
