First tracks, deets for Guitar Hero: Metallica

With all the recent chatter about Guitar Hero World Tour, you can be forgiven if Guitar Hero: Metallica slipped from your radar. It's still very much coming, though, and the latest issue of Game Informer has fresh details and the first tracks, from both Metallica themselves and the other acts that will feature.
The game will come with the full suite of World Tour instruments, and Vicarious Visions plans to add "Metallica drum sounds" and a selection of guitar and bass "tones" used by Metallica's James Hetfield and Tom Araya of Slayer to the GH Tunes music studio. There will also be a new, extra-hard drum difficulty for those with a splitter and two kick pedals. Having picked up Guitar Hero games again after a long break, the last thing we personally need is greater difficulty, but
Check out the first Metallica and non-Metallica tracks after the break!

Sweet. I'd buy it just for No Excuses. Alice in Chains = best band ever.

Needs "Fade to Black" and, more importantly, "Creeping Death" and "Trapped Under Ice." No post-Black Album Metallica (except about 80% of Death Magnetic) will ever be played in my house, under pain of death.

With "Trapped Under Ice" in World Tour, I doubt it will show up here as well.

Tuesdays Gone is reason enough for me to buy this.

The tracks from the other bands are beyond terrible! Come on Activision!
And why so may recent Metallica songs?! They are crap!
They better not ruin this game!
Grrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!
zeldazeppelin @ Dec 12th 2008 5:24PM
Dude there will be freaking Queen. How is that terrible?
These are nor even close to a 3rd of the tracks anyway

Ugh. I think this is one GH I'll pass on, unless the game only disc is like $20.

I can understand people crying about the fact that many of these songs are from Metallica's more recent albums. But they included Hit the Lights. Let me say that again, they included Hit the Lights! It's only the single greatest thrash/speed metal song of all time (without question and if you disagree, you are wrong), bar none. I've never liked Guitar Hero and the like, but that song alone is almost enough to make me change my mind and purchase this. Almost. Shock and amazement on that inclusion, that song was just born for fake shredding.

I basically thought the same exact thing as you did with Guitar Hero: Aerosmith; just replace "Hit the Lights" with "Walk this Way." About a month after getting the game, though, I was still underwhelmed and eventually got rid of it. Adding the new instruments is a plus for sure, but I'm still wary about GH: Metallica.

metallica is gods of musicians whatever anyone say
jughead789 @ Dec 14th 2008 12:48AM
Just guessing the Queen song will be stone cold crazy...since metallica covered it on garage inc. (along with turn the page, and tuesdays gone which they confirmed) I also hope they put whiskey in the jar in there, im partial to the metallica version myself but the thin lizzy one would be another good song to have by a non metallica band

Enter Sandman?! *drools*
I've wanted this in Guitar Hero since it was in Rock Band. Soooo much fun to play =D

I think they should add Ride the Lightning, Fade To Black, and Seek and Destroy as well.
