Watch how Jungle Beat (Play on Wii) plays on Wii
Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat (Play on Wii) released today in Japan. As such, first footage of the game has hit the internet. We hear you like that sort of thing? Well, after watching the stage above, we're excited for the game. We've had our fair share of qualms with Play on Wii, that's for sure, but Jungle Beat looks so fun. We'll keep an eye out for other videos showing off the new game, so you keep an eye here for those as they make their way onto the intertron. Because we can't resize the embeddable player, you'll have to head past the break for the video.
Oh, and it should be noted that the game apparently released with a reversible cover, providing Japanese consumers with a chance to improve on that fugly boxart Nintendo went with. You may also check that out past the break.

So is there any reason that they couldn't have left the bongo controls in there?
ZaxCG2 @ Dec 12th 2008 10:06AM
That's an excellent question that I demand the answer to!

I still have the GC version and bongo set, so this one may be a pass.
I did, however noticed a health set in the video...
flameofdoom666 @ Dec 11th 2008 6:23PM
I noticed that too.
Also, the graphics have a lot more detail.
I feel a bit ripped off- considering I got it for the GC for 50$ (not including bongos)

Why couldn't Nintendo replicate the bongos with the balance board? It would be easy to make some software for that to be compatible, lazy Nintendo...

Oh, seriously, this game was hard enough on your hands while continually slapping those nice rubbery bongo drums. If you were made to slap the balance board instead... trust me, your hands would be goners in mere minutes.
Plus, how would you do the 'clap' maneuver?
Abscissa @ Dec 11th 2008 7:33PM
Umm, yea, I'll stick with the bongo-controlled version.

I got the GC game, and two sets of bongos for $11, i think i'll pass on this.
BTW: that video player is a pile of crap. It can't seem to make it 12 seconds without needing to pause to buffer. what is this, 1998?
