Looking for a Wii? Try Walmart.com

If you're on the hunt for a Wii this holiday season, then Walmart.com just might have you covered. The retail giant will supposedly be selling "tens of thousands" of Wiis starting now. If you're looking for just the console, or a bundle package, Walmart will have several different options available to consumers, starting with the console alone ($250) on up to a bundle package featuring Wii Fit ($460). Of course, now that the word is out, there might not be much time for you to nab one of your own. So we suggest you get to it.

I really wish you wouldn't have posted this. walmart is one of the most evil organizations on the planet because of their shady business practices, involvement with slave labour, sexist and racist hiring and promoting, fatally unsafe parking lots leading to an unprecedented amount of crime outside their store, ect. I know people really want to buy a wii, but it's not worth going to them for it.

Sorry you feel that way. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and we're certainly not endorsing Walmart, but we are trying to help people out who might be hunting down one for the holidays. Considering how scarce they still are (amazing, we know), we feel it's our job to inform.

Thanks for offering your opinions, though! I certainly hope that everyone strives to be as informed about who they're giving their money to as you are. :)

While picking up GTWT on Black Friday (hey, I had it site to store), my local F-Mart had a whole shelf in the back of the store full of them. They were even announcing that they had Wiis in stock, and where they were. I didn't see a mad rush to buy them, just one confused woman who had no idea what was in the box, or how many that she needed.

Ahh, you have to love when people give their kids things that cost $200+ while having NO idea what they are spending their money on.

For having thousands and thousands...they are out of stock online. At least...that's how it appears.

However, I'd like to suggest Amazon.com. No tax. Free shipping. Not as evil as Walmart. And in stock (at least right now...)

I don't get what everybody has against Walmart or Gamestop.

Gamestop has the best selection of used games for me to buy, and staff that are Gaming Wizards, so you're not dealing with nincompoops at other stores when you're trying to tell them what game you want. I do admit that the prices they offer for your used games are crap, but if that's the case, sell it yourself.

Walmart always has that one thing I need in stock. When every store never had that Madden PSP, I take a step into Walmart's electronic selection, and behind that beautiful shelf.. there it was.

I honestly don't see why you guys hate on these stores so much.

Everything (well most, especially memory cards) ordered by wal-mart isn't made as good, and that is why it is all cheaper.

Want to know why we hate gamestop so much? Those used games you buy there, for such a great selection? Yeah, way to support the worst practice in the industry, at least the way gamestop carries it out.

Wanna know why they have a return policy on used items? So they don't have to spend time testing them. A used game doesn't work? Who cares, let the customer figure it out after he buys it. Then, when he returns it and informs them of the problem, they ship it with a ton of other faulty games off to a factory where, for pennies per disc, they just rebuff the disk, and ship them back.

That's why you have to return a game 3 times before you can get your money back. That's the same way their used consoles work too. They don't waste time figuring out if it works or not. They just give you 15 bucks for your 150+ dollar investment, and let it by somebody else's problem.

And gaming wizards? Perhaps your lucky, and your local store actually hired knowledgeable employees. But that's rarely ever the case, and it can usually be said that the average game stop employee knows as much about games as the average wal mart employee does. The average wal mart employee that works in the produce section.

The list goes on way longer then a single comment for gamestop.

As for wal-mart, they're just bleh. I have no problems with them, and would buy there before gamestop.

Our GameStop must be a better one, then. When I was about to purchase a bad-quality game (For only $3, mind you), they warned me of it before I bought it. Not sure if they test the games though, since I've only brought in some Cartridges.

Hey guys,
I got a better place than WalMart.com: Australia.
Over here they are so common that they sell them for $50 off and with a free game (usually a shit one like Big Beach Sports, but a free game nonetheless).
Sell the game on ebay.com.au, convert with AnyReigonChanger and voila, a US Wii for AU$300 - Under US$200!

Wal-Mart: Not a fan of them at all, but they had a stack of WarioWare Touched for the DS, so I bought one the other day.

Gamespot: can be a decent place. I got a GC memory card that was priced way too low. I think they thought the ~1000kb card was a 1019 block card. But nowadays they don't offer great deals on used items. I've never received a bum used item from them though.

Game Crazy: the local one here had (or still has) a pile of Wii Fits sitting there while the Fit has been sold out everywhere else. Kinda funny. Their used prices are super awful, but I once got a Wavebird there for $15 so I keep going there to check things out.
