A delightfully comprehensive Phantasy Star Zero trailer
The enthusiastically-narrated clip introduces the three gameplay modes -- solo, wireless multiplayer, and online multiplayer, with a nice helping of gameplay footage of each. We can also get a glimpse at the possibilities for character customization! Jaunty hats, antennae, and huge green afros abound.
We think that there may even be a different story in the single-player mode for Humans, Newmans, and Casts. Combine that with the animated cutscenes, and Phantasy Star Zero may actually have a story mode worth playing!

Looking forward to the game with serious anticipation I remember how much I loved PSO
The trailer conjured fond memories of PSO I & II
Honestly this is on my ZOMG MUST HAVE list, I just hope that sonic team doesn't grind it into the ground like PSO I & II

I wish I understood japanese damnit so I could know more about it! I've already learned almost everything I can about it though!

I'm amazed at the writing and drawing speed of the japanese.
Look at the drawings on the bubble, they're so damn good >_>, the only thing I can draw as a face is a circle with two points and a line as eyes and mouth.

The game has an option to save save your sketches for later use in multiplayer.

Ah you can't use the same acronym twice! Haha, it confused me on my first read-thru.

Any news on a US release date? They had BETTER be giving this a US release date!

How is this possible? those graphics, that animation, the attention to detail, the multiple customization, clever and useful use of the touch screen, fully explorable 3D worlds, Animated cut-scenes, story mode, local and online multiplayer game coming from SEGA no from Sonic Team.
Holy Hell!!! I'm utter shock and disbelief.

it's a big mystery. maybe they invested all of their mojo in PSZ and everything else suffered as a result?
I'm not sure Sonic Team really exists anymore. I'm beginning to think the PS team is kept separate from everything else.

Wow, this could very well be the Monster Hunter equivalent for the DS.
Coming soon to a huddle of Ds lite players at a Mcdonalds WIFI zone near you!

Look at how smoothly the game moves. The graphics are exactly right for this kind of game, and what's important (that it runs swiftly and without problems) looks to be just fine.
I'm looking forward to playing this game, if not for the gameplay itself, than for the fun of playing with people from across the globe. Writing with your bare hands, bypassing the censoring system by using my native language... this would be fantastic even without the gameplay itself(maybe that's because I like speaking with people from other countries and also because the last time I played an MMO was 3 years ago, but I loved it... mainly the part where you could meet up and chat with others, while also playing and going forward co-operately together... oh, the memories).
This makes me sad, because it will either ruin my summer and/or my universal studies, or I won't be able to play with it... at all. And the latter seems to be kind of depressing... oh well, I'm gonna die of starvation, but I'm gonna die with a smile on my face (and PSZ playing in my dead hands until the battery dies out).

i still can't get over how beautiful this game looks in 3D. Squareenix has some competition now.lol. looks like sega might take the rpg crown, that is until DQ9 =P

Is this DS graphics???
Big 3D scene, lots of characters running around, no lag :-| . I don't believe it.
Caleb @ Jan 19th 2009 11:00PM
This game rocks D: I have the japan version because the US date is fall or winter in 09.. The lag is just.. like it doesn't exist, but 1 problem must I say. It has the tendecy to have your partners at the wrong places, such as fighting with a sword from a long distance O_o. Doesn't much nor does it bother me. This game is god.. estimated playtime to get to unlock super hard mode through the 1st run of the game... 60+ hours more or less skipping the story just to unlock super hard mode at lvl 100.
Super hard mode is what it says... super freaking hard, and long. Sure you get a lot of money and REALLY COOL weapons from that mode but damn.. it's impossible to play yourself, so 4 lvl 100s will do you well till you get to the boss mode, the boss mode just.. they kill you in 1-5 hits with the average 2 hits and you're dead. Jeez, we're talking about a potential 100 hour game, on the DS!
