Rock Band 2 drum kit hides mystery port

The updated drum kit for Rock Band 2 apparently has a mystery port located in the back. This port, which was speculated to be used for a second kicker, won't actually be used for that. This, of course, has led to all kinds of speculation about what it's function actually is. Could it support something new, like the Guitar Hero rumor we heard awhile back? Harmonix isn't saying, for now.

What would be great is for it to support World Tour, or better yet, a gong... ahh the possibilities.

I really doubt it'd be for a new instrument- that'd be stupid to have to buy the new drumset just to have the keyboard connected.

there are 5 1/4" jacks on the back center of the drum console. one for the kicker (red), 3 for expanding to the 'triple' cymbal kit (yellow,blue,green)....

and one black mystery jack that doesn't seem to correspond to anything...

i assume that's the 'mystery port'?

my kick drum will not work. what am I doing wrong?! HELP.... I have it plugged in th the correct port I believe. the top one that matches the color....

HA! You can connect a peddle to it and play the orange note in World Tour!!! I tried the symbol in that port, but it didn't work, so I figured I'd try the second peddle I had. It's like a high hat peddle expansion it seems? Idk, run with that discovery I suppose.
