Slow-acting venom: Deadly Creatures delayed
When it was first announced back in February, Rainbow Studios' Deadly Creatures seemed poised to be one of the most 'hardcore' action titles in 2008's Wii lineup. Now, we're quickly expending our supply of 2008, with nary a Deadly Creature to be found. This Halloween, on one of the game's planned release dates, THQ set their sights on December. Now that's been pushed back to February 2009. As usual, the endless delays only drive our desire to play a game about a scorpion and tarantula who follow criminals around. And maybe the extra development time will mean we're less disappointed with what now looks to be one of the most 'hardcore' action titles in 2009's Wii lineup.

Well, there goes my Christmas list.

I guess that explains why I hadn't heard anything else about it recently. Still on my interested list, though.

Usually I'd say this is a good move, so it doesn't get buried at Christmas - but Wii really doesn't have a big lineup this year.
Nintendo left the door open for third parties to profit, and those companies brought us ... well, Mushroom Men has potential to be decent I guess. Bit of a void?
That said, there are tons of old Wii titles that I want to catch up on - more than I'll have time to play over the holidays - so the drought doesn't really hurt me. Still a shame that third-party devs completely failed this Christmas.

I have thought the same thing--Q4 08 was the opportunity for third parties to have no hardcore Nintendo release to compete with, unless they thought Wii Fit, Wii Music, and Animal Crossing were going to so dominate our game dollars. But I really don't want to hear any more whining about 3rd parties not getting a break with the Wii.
I just picked up Dokapon Kingdom (which is much deeper than I expected) and Okami via goozex (not to mention Chrono Trigger DS), so I have plenty now to play.

Wow. Nintendo's christmas lineup is PATHETIC. Good thing I'll be playing games this holiday.

Guess I'll ask for Tales of Symphonia 2.

Now early next year is gonna be pretty crowded with The Conduit, House of the Dead, MadWorld, Moon, and now Deadly Creatures.
Bleh, shitty holiday season but atleast we have a potentially amazing lineup for next year.
