Looks like Monster Games -- the folks behind the Wii launch title
Excite Truck -- are hard at work on a super secret new project for the console, and have been for a long time. How secret is it? So secret, apparently, that they have to turn down their monitors when unauthorized folks walk into the office. Sounds like anything but an
Excite Truck follow-up, eh? There aren't many reasons to keep that a secret. So what could it be? Monster Games only seems to put out racing titles, so we're gonna bet there will be vehicles and high speeds, but that could cover a lot of ground. Some have
guessed that it might be an all-new
F-Zero, but frankly, we're holding out for something that's really new and not a revival. Not that we wouldn't enjoy a little
F-Zero, but we like
new things, too.

I'll admit, Excite Truck can use a sequel. It was a good game, but has a lot that can be improved.

Racing RPG.

How do those people get any work done. Id imagine in a setting such as theirs random people come in and out all the time.

I think some F-Zero could be pretty awesome on Wii, not gonna lie. If they nail the Wii Remote on it's side controls, it could be pretty awesome.

I hope that this is a direct sequel to F-Zero GX, the best racing video game of all time in my opinion.....

Project H.A.M.M.E.R (Project L.O.L more like)
I hope it isn't F-Zero GX sequel actually, because i don't think they could live up to the standard that GX set, and besides Miyamoto said that collaborations with other companies on their IP's haven't worked too well in the past (minus GX of course)
NintendoPWNSall @ Nov 30th 2008 12:48AM
ChromeAlchemist, quite a dumbass statement IMO. F-ZERO would be fantastic, especially on WII! As for companies besides Nintendo working on their IP's and sucking, guess you never heard of RETRO and a little GOTY Metoid Prime!!1!
@tomic @ Nov 30th 2008 7:09PM
Guess you never heard that Retro is actually owned by Nintendo and so can't really be considered an outside company.
Regardless, I'd really like to see F-Zero. It'd be hard to top GX, but I'm desperate for some online F-Zero with Wii Motionplus enhanced controls. Plus, racers are Monster Games' specialty, so I think they know what they're doing.

I hope it's F-Zero. Even though I love Wipeout I've never played a game in this series. I've tried to find the GC version but it has been rather impossible, at a reasonable price anyway.
Dopple Boppler @ Nov 30th 2008 11:32AM
I just found a used copy on Amazon for seven bucks a couple months ago. It's so worth it; I'm not a big fan of racing games but I adore F-Zero.
